Season 3

Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks!

1. Starting with this episode, Della appears in the intro both with Scrooge and the rest of the family and with Launchpad in the Sunchaser during the close up when the lyrics say "it's a duck blur." The full version of the season 3 intro is actually not shown until The Lost Harp of Mervana! (2020).
2. This is the first appearance of Violet's parents, revealing that she has two dads.
3. This episode reveals that Doofus Drake and B.O.Y.D. have joined the Junior Woodchucks though they do not have any dialogue. This can also be seen as a nod to the original DuckTales (1987) as Doofus was affiliated with the group in that series and only ever appeared wearing a Junior Woodchuck outfit.
4. This is the first appearance of Della Duck in her Junior Woodchucks outfit. Her past affiliation with the group was previously revealed when she was reunited with the boys in Nothing Can Stop Della Duck! (2019).
5. The design for the Junior Woodchuck lodge in this episode incorporates the designs of the camp and the Tri-Crested Tittertwill from the real-life attraction of Camp Woodchuck that is found in Japan's Tokyo Disneyland.
6. The Tittwertwill--with its tall crest, long beak, and silly sounds--slightly resembles the Aracuan Bird.
7. One of the Junior Woodchucks resembles Russell from Pixar's Up (2009), only of course being an Anthropomorphic Bird. This is noted even further when his father doesn't make it to the ceremony at the end.
8. Among the cities that Scrooge visited in earlier episodes listed on the signpost by the starting line are Macaw from The House of the Lucky Gander! (2017), Pato Pisco from Sky Pirates...in the Sky! (2018), and Gumption from The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck! (2019).
9. Donald is wearing a fanny pack that says "party fowl" and there is a mosquito following him the whole episode this the fanny pack foreshadows on F.O.W.L. watching him as revealed at the end of the episode
10. One of the Junior Woodchucks has a painting of Donald's great grandfather and Cornelius Coot's son, Clinton Coot, who was featured in Legend of the Three Caballeros (2018).
11. One of the locations mentioned by Scrooge is "Cave of the Bear Clan", which is a pun on the film The Clan of the Cave Bear (1986).
12. During the challenge, Huey loses his guidebook and turns to the "guidebook in his mind", which begins giving him advice instead. This is based on the real "Third Hiker Phenomenon", where people who are stuck in life or death situations sometimes imagine a person there with them, who offers helpful advice and encouragement.
13. Following The Great Dime Chase! (2017), Last Christmas! (2018) and Friendship Hates Magic! (2019), this is the fourth episode of DuckTales (2017) to play a shorter version of the intro.

Quack Pack!

1. Gene the Genie is voiced by Jaleel White, the actor who famously played Steve Urkel on a wholesome family sitcom, similar to the Ducks' lives in this episode.
2. This is the first appearance of Donald's close friend Goofy in DuckTales (2017), who wears the same outfit that he wore in Goof Troop (1992). In this, he is portrayed as a photographer, referencing the job that he had at the start of the film based off that series A Goofy Movie (1995).
3. Max, Roxanne and PJ from A Goofy Movie (1995) can be seen in some of the photos that were shown by Goofy in this episode.
4. This is the first episode to feature humans, who serve as the enemies.
5. This marks the fifth time that Donald's unusual sounding voice has had a temporary adjustment, after Donald's Dream Voice (1948), Split Decisions (2016), Ye Olde Royal Heist/Tea Time Trouble! (2017), and The Shadow War! (2018). This is also the first time that an actor who provided his adjusted voice in the past--Don Cheadle--reprises his role as doing such.
6. Gene says he's been in the lamp since 1990, the same year DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) came out, and that the original DuckTales (1987) series ended.
7. Huey (Danny Pudi) is the first character to notice that they are in a TV show and has a hard time convincing everyone else. Similarly, the voice actor's character Abed Nadir on Community (2009) is known for breaking the fourth wall and talking to everyone as if he is the only one that knows they are in a TV show.
8. When unveiling his hairstyle, Dewey says "Shabooey!" This was a word frequently uttered by the Genie in DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990).
9. The "special outfits" the boys have for the photo resemble the outfits they wore in the classic Donald short Mr. Duck Steps Out (1940).
10. This title references the previous DuckTales spinoff Quack Pack (1996) which involved Donald, and the triplets Huey, Dewey, and Louie as teenagers. It was notable for being the first time the boys had individual appearances and personalities, rather than being identical except for their colors. It was also the first "Duck" series to have human beings, much like this episode.
11. Gene the Genie from DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990) appears in this episode, now having brown feathers rather then white feathers.
12. the humans in this episode are referred to as "hyper-intelligent hairless apes", which is what Ludwig Von Drake in Raiders of the Doomsday Vault! (2019) referred to them as with being one of the possible bloodthirsty abominations.
13. Louie's comment about how many lamps Collie Baba has refers to the earlier episode Treasure of the Found Lamp! (2019), which, like this episode, contained numerous allusions to DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990).
14. Unlike DuckTales (1987) and Darkwing Duck (1991), TV shows that became iconic and well loved by people of the 1990s, the Quack Pack (1996) show did not last very long and was not well received.
15. This is the second episode to have Donald's voice modified and voiced by Don Cheadle, which was the result of Donald's wish that was granted by Gene. The first was in The Shadow War! (2018), which was done with an artificial voice box.
16. This marks the first appearance of Donald's classic blue sailor suit in the series other than in Woo-oo! (2017), in which he never wore it and it was quickly put in the garbage disposal.
17. Gene's new voice actor Jaleel White, replacing the late Rip Taylor from DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (1990), and Dewey's voice actor Ben Schwartz have voiced famous video game character Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog (1993) and Sonic the Hedgehog (2020). Sonic, like Dewey, is associated with the color blue.
18. This episode very literally breaks the fourth wall when Huey convinces the others that they are on the set of a television show.
19. Don Cheadle (Quack Pack Donald) and Abby Ryder Fortson (Audience Girl) both have roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine and Cassie Lang.
20. Originally before this was made Disney planned for a reboot of the old Goof Troop (1992) TV show back in 2019 which was to have a combination of the 1992 show with the two films A Goofy Movie (1995) and An Extremely Goofy Movie (2000) put together. It was to be the second reboot of a Disney animated show after the DuckTales (2017) reboot. But it was scrapped for unknown reasons.
21. This features an extremely short version of the theme song.

Double-O-Duck in You Only Crash Twice!

1. The Rescue Rangers are given a new origin here as lab animals given super intelligence by F.O.W.L. This was done to fit them into the new DuckTales universe as in their original cartoon they operated in the human world and not in an anthropomorphized animal world like their fellow Disney cartoons.
2. "Double-O Duck" was an original title conceived for the series that became Darkwing Duck (1991) before it was found that the "double-o" prefix was actually copyrighted by the estate of Ian Fleming, creator of 007 James Bond.
3. This marks the first time that Steelbeak--originally from Darkwing Duck (1991)--plays a major role in this series. Although his voice actor from that series Rob Paulsen had been in previous episodes of DuckTales (2017), he does not reprise Steelbeak in this episode.
4. The original Double-O Duck episode of DuckTales (1987) was originally intended to be a test pilot for an espionage series starring Launchpad. That project never came to fruition, but some elements eventually made it into Darkwing Duck (1991).
5. Odd-Duck's name is based off the James Bond Villain Oddjob, who was previously parodied by John D Rockerduck's henchman Jeeves in The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck! (2019).
6. During the motorboat chase, Steelbeak uses his namesake beak to break Launchpad's grappling hook, which is a callback to what he's often been known to do in Darkwing Duck (1991) to the titular character's gadgets (which was most noteworthy in the episode "Tiff of the Titans".
7. Dewey's undercover suit is based off the one worn by the titular character of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja (2012) at the beginning of the episode titled "Aplopalypse Now", whose also voiced by Ben Schwartz.
8. When Launchpad failed a game at the start of the episode, the words "YOU DIED" appear in red as a callback to the video game Dark Souls (2011).
9. In this series the F.O.W.L. Eggmen have been renamed as Eggheads, which likely was done to avoid confusion with video game villain Dr. Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, who at the time Darkwing Duck (1991) aired was called Dr. Robotnik.
10. This episode reunites two voice actors who previously worked on the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013). The first is Marc Evan Jackson (Bradford Buzzard) who played Kevin Cozner and the second is Jason Mantzoukas (Steelbeak) who played Adrian Pimento. Both actors also played prominent roles in The Good Place.
11. Steelbeak is the third character from Darkwing Duck (1991) to have a different voice actor in DuckTales (2017), in which he's voiced by Jason Mantzoukas instead of Rob Paulsen. The other two had been Megavolt, who had been voiced by Keith Ferguson rather then Dan Castellaneta, and Paddywack, who had been voiced by Jim Cummings rather then the late Phil Hartman.
12. Following The Great Dime Chase! (2017), Last Christmas! (2018), Friendship Hates Magic! (2019), and Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks! (2020) this is the 5th episode of the DuckTales (2017) reboot to play a shorter version of the intro.
13. Scrooge taking interest in a prospector skee-ball game at Funzo's Funzone is likely a callback to his days as a prospector. During that time, he fought against FOWL Agent John D Rockerduck.

The Lost Harp of Mervana!

1. After three episodes in a row with the short intro, this is the first episode to play the full version of the Season 3 intro, revealing that Della is included in the scene in the treasure room where the dragon appears and blows out the torch in Scrooge's hand.
2. Della Duck is revealed to suffer from ichthyophobia, which refers to fear or disgust towards fish and is the reason she is the only one to primarily remain behind with the submarine.
3. The eponymous harp in this episode bares a slight resemblance to the one seen in the episode "Raiders of the Lost Harp" in the original series, only having brown feathers and purple hair rather then white feathers and blonde hair. Much like that episode, the harp seen in this one is used as a lie detector and says "fibbing" whenever someone lies about something.
4. At the end of the episode when Mrs. Beakley promises Webby that there will be no more secrets between them, the harp sings ominously in the background that the housekeeper is still fibbing. This is likely foreshadowing a future plot line that involves Webby and who her parents are, something that has never been explored in the Ducktales canon before. The full details of this would be revealed in the series finale The Last Adventure! (2021) where Webby is a genetic clone of Scrooge McDuck, which makes Scrooge her biological father and that Mrs. Beakley simply adopted her upon raiding the headquarters of FOWL.
5. When Louie sees a giant tower of stairs, he collapses at the sight of it, which is a callback to The Great Dime Chase! (2017) when he is frequently forced to take the stairs.
6. After meeting the mermaids, and following them into Mervana, Webby excitedly exclaims "Look at this stuff! Isn't it neat?" It is a direct quote from Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989). Specifically, the intro line to the song "Part of Your World." Both animated works are made by Disney.
7. Mervana is based off the words "Mermaid" and "Nirvana."
8. All the main Mervanans have names that mean "truth." Honestus is a pun on the word honest, and Alethia and Vero's names originate from Greek and Italian, respectively.

Louie's Eleven!

1. When Donald sings to Daisy for the song "Hear My Voice," his singing voice is performed by the series' composer Dominic Lewis in an uncredited role. This is the first time that someone other than Don Cheadle provides an alternate voice for Donald.
2. This is the first appearance of Donald's girlfriend, Daisy Duck, in DuckTales (2017), in which she appears as a no-nonsense-type party planner.
3. Before charging at Graves, Manny shakes his hooves as if "reloading" them, paying tribute to what August Walker does before a fight in Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).
4. While Daisy never made any appearances in DuckTales (1987), her voice actress Tress MacNeille did voice a number of characters throughout the series many years before becoming the voice of Daisy. These include Circe, Queen Ariel, Oprah Webfeet, Millionara Vanderbucks, Feathers Galore, Yuckalinda, Griselda, Swanwhite, Mrs. Quackenbush, one of the voices for Mrs. Featherby, Agnes the Harpy, and the Microduck Commander.
5. Tress MacNeille (reprising her long-time role as Daisy) is the eighth cast member of DuckTales (2017) to have previously been in DuckTales (1987) as well. The other seven cast members are Tony Anselmo, Frank Welker (uncredited in the reboot), Jim Cummings, Michael Bell, Corey Burton, Russi Taylor and Rob Paulsen.
6. It is revealed that Emma Glamour is Mark Beaks' mother.
7. Daisy appearing as a the Beleaguered Assistant to an Anna Wintour Expy is a likely a tribute to the film The Devil Wears Prada (2006) by David Frankel and the novel of the same name that it's based off by Lauren Weisberger.
8. This is the first official Disney TV Animation production to involve Bebe Neuwirth since her previous role in Pepper Ann (1997) as Ms. Bladdar, a role she last performed 22 years ago (Cocoon Gables/Green-Eyed Monster (1998)).
9. A statue of a Ballerina Hippo can be seen at the party, possibly being a tribute to the Dance for Hours segment of Fantasia (1940).
10. A similar looking character to Gyro can be seen in a containment tube, which could possibly be a clone of his that he'd been talking about in "Timephoon".
11. The title refers to the classic heist movie Ocean's Eleven (1960) and its subsequent remake.
12. According to series writer Francisco Angones, he and his crew had been meaning to include Daisy as far back as the series premiere, and even went through a number ideas on how she'd be portrayed before eventually settling with a party planner.
13. When Louie's laptop shows the 'It List' near the beginning of the episode, the view sees an entry on 'Kat'. This post gives background info on a punk rocker who plays for the band The Featherweights. Her previous personas include Iggy Astronaut and Lady Insane, parodies of Ziggy Stardust/David Bowie and Lady Gaga respectively.
14. While diving out of the air duct at Falcon, Donald yells "Yippee-Kai-Ay, Mr. Falcon!" a (cleaned up) reference to Bruce Willis's catchphrase from 'Die Hard,' in which he also had to crawl through air ducts.
15. This episode features the second appearances of Panchito Pistoles and José Carioca. They previously appeared in The Town Where Everyone Was Nice! (2018).
16. Hidden Mickey: There's at least two in the sparkles on Daisy's dress.
17. On the back of Louie's laptop, there is a sticker of what appears to be Shadowmourne, a legendary axe from the video game World of Warcraft (2004).
18. As Donald leaps out of the air duct to cross kick Falcon Graves, he yells "Yippee ki-yay, Mr. Falcon!" When the movie Die Hard is replayed on networks with language restrictions, this is the version of John McClane's famous catchphrase that is used.
19. In this episode Sam Riegel does the voice of both Hack and Slash Smashnikov. Previously Jason Marsden did the voice of Hack Smashnikov in the series premiere Woo-oo! (2017),
20. Jane, the server at Funzo's who originally appeared in Daytrip of Doom! (2017), returns in this. Though Toks Olagundoye (who also voices Mrs. Beakley) reprises her role, she is uncredited in this episode.
21. When Falcon Graves lets them into the party, he says "Welcome to the party, pal." This is another reference to when John McClane gets Sergeant Al Powell involved in the events of Die Hard (1988).

Astro B.O.Y.D.!

1. Gyro's appearance in his flashback has a great resemblance to his appearance in DuckTales (1987) with the exception of his hair being white instead of red.
2. When Fenton uses red-colored sunglasses to block out B.O.Y.D.'s red-colored laser beams, this can be seen as a tribute to the Marvel Comic's character Cyclops (Scott Summers) of the X-Men who wears ruby-quartz sunglasses (or a visor) to help control his normally uncontrollable optic blast powers.
3. Several posters for Glomgold Industries are visible throughout Tokyolk.
4. At the end, B.O.Y.D. redefines the initials in his name as "Be Only Yourself Dude" instead of "Beaks Optimistic Youth Droid."
5. Noah Baird replaces Nicolas Cantu as the voice of B.O.Y.D. in this episode. This can be attributed to Cantu's voice changing from recent puberty, which actually occurred sometime before the episode B.O.Y.D. made his first appearance.
6. One of the Junior Woodchucks is a Beagle Boy named Bully Beagle. In DuckTales (1987), Bully Beagle appeared in Nothing to Fear (1987) as a bully from school feared by Doofus Drake, who unlike the other Beagle Boys did not wear the trademark clothing and was voiced by a woman with a child-sounding voice Pat Musick.
7. Dr. Atika at one point in the episode can be seen eating a bag of chips which features an Osomatsu-kun inspired character doing the signature 'shie' pose.
8. There are 2 callbacks to "The Great Dime Chase" in this episode. First with what he said when trying to get 2-BO/B.O.Y.D. to recognize him during his malfunction much like he did with Lil Bub when Armoured, the second is when Gyro tells Dr. Atika that only half of his inventions turned evil whilst the other half were widely misunderstood much like he did with Scrooge's Board Member Vultures.
9. Huey and B.O.Y.D.'s bike chase along the wall pays tribute to the car chase scene from Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro (1979).
10. This is the third episode to not have the intro and simply displays the DuckTales logo (albeit rendered in Japanese on this occasion). The other two episodes were the first part of Woo-oo! (2017) when split into two separate episodes during reruns and Whatever Happened to Della Duck?! (2019).
11. At the lab in Tokyolk, Gyro uncovers a mechanical-looking chair that he has B.O.Y.D. sit in, so they can run a diagnostic on his systems and view his digital memories. The chair strongly resembles the one the scientists in RoboCop (1987) have the title character sit in to run diagnostics, recharge, and view his digital memories.
12. One of the things that BOYD and Huey do together in Tokyolk is take a picture of their heads and place them on what looks like the Anime Characters Chief Otsuka and the titular character of Gigantor (1964).
13. The dogfight between Gizmoduck and BOYD in this episode is based off Super Dimension Fortress Macross (1982).
14. Tokyolk is based off Tokyo, the capital city of Japan.
15. This is the first episode that Doofus appears in, but both of his parents do not.
16. During the scene where Huey and BOYD are in the train, a grey wolf that resembles Legoshi from the anime/manga series Beastars (2019) can be seen in the foreground.
17. Much like in "Happy Birthday Doofus Drake", BOYD when malfunctioning begins to uncontrollably fire lasers from his eyes pays tribute to how Jack-Jack did so in Incredibles 2 (2018), only now they're able to be contained thanks to some red glasses provided by Fenton.
18. The Outlaw Couple both pay tribute to an anime series during the jewelry store heist. Clown wears a mask that resembles Buggy the Clown from One Piece (1999), whilst Capsule pays tribute to Princess Tutu (2002) by doing a pirouette right after exiting.
19. B.O.Y.D.'s real name is revealed to have been 2-BO when created by Gyro but was renamed B.O.Y.D. by Beaks to pass him off as his son sometime prior to the events of Happy Birthday, Doofus Drake! (2019) due to also being an African Grey Parrot.

The Rumble for Ragnarok!

1. Jormungandr was previously mentioned in Last Christmas! (2018) when Scrooge listed "keeping the world-eating serpent Jormungandr at bay" as one of his responsibilities from throughout the year.
2. Scrooge and company enter Valhalla by flying through a rainbow. This is a reference to Bifrost, the "Rainbow Bridge" used by the gods of the Norse pantheon.
3. Hecka is named after Hela from Norse mythology. Also these names are based on the words "heck" and "hell," which notably the former is often used in place of the latter in different forms of entertainment for censorship purposes, especially for children's entertainment.
4. Dewey's ChamPopular outfit and persona are based on his "popular-high-school-jock" outfit that he wore in A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill! (2019).
5. In Quack Pack! (2020), one of Dewey's weaknesses was revealed to be disapproval in a way that causes him to comically lose his strength. In this, it's made use of to face off against Jormungandr.
6. Uncle Scrooge's signature "Penny Pincher" hold would appear to be reference to real life wrestling legends, the Von Erich Family and their signature "Iron Claw".

The Phantom and the Sorceress!

1. When Lena tries to shoot out her magic without the amulet, she takes on the pose of a hadouken from the Street Fighter (1987) video game series, which like with the video games from the classic DuckTales video games DuckTales (1989), DuckTales 2 (1993), and DuckTales: Remastered (2013) was also produced by Capcom.
2. Though Donald does not appear in this episode, Gladstone is briefly transformed into him through magic.
3. Lena's flashback scenes include most of her previous appearances: (The Beagle Birthday Massacre! (2017), Jaw$! (2018), The Other Bin of Scrooge McDuck! (2018), The Shadow War! (2018), Friendship Hates Magic! (2019), and A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill! (2019))
4. This episode has a similar plot to DuckTales (1987)'s Magica's Shadow War (1987), which also had Magica teaming up with the good guys to help with defeating an enemy to them both.
5. There was a deleted scene that included the Phantom Blot taking over the role of Funzo after GlomTales! (2019), specifically to keep tabs on Magica while working on his gauntlet.
6. How the Blot is defeated is similar to how the Mystic Force Power Rangers defeated Octomus the Master. Much like how the Rangers overfed the demon with magic until he exploded, the endless power of friendship fueling Lena's magic overloaded Blot's gauntlet.

They Put a Moonlander on the Earth!

1. While at the Duckburg pier with Penumbra, Webby and Dewey feed popcorn to several small non-anthropomorphic ducks, which Penumbra seems to find both confounding and disconcerting.
2. When the moon is shown in the last scene, the damaged spaceship carrying General Lunaris is shown floating across the sky in front of it in a cameo appearance.
3. It can be interpreted that this was the first time that Webby had been able to eat a hamburger, which was one of the many things she wanted to do when finally ready to enter the outside world that she mentioned in Woo-oo! (2017).
4. Penumbra states to Launchpad that her reason why she doesn't want to date him is that she has no interest in Earth men. It was stated by writer Sam King on Twitter that Penumbra is actually a lesbian.
5. Timmy Jenkins previously had a brief cameo in Daytrip of Doom! (2017) as one of the kids seen at Funzo's Funzone.
6. Launchpad also dated an extraterrestrial in The Right Duck (1987) of DuckTales (1987), a Martian from Mars.

The Trickening!

1. Nosferatu, the vampire, is voiced by James Marsters, who played the vampire Spike on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) and its spin-off, Angel (1999).
2. This is the fifth episode of DuckTales (2017) to feature a custom intro and theme song. The previous four were Last Christmas! (2018), The Duck Knight Returns! (2019), GlomTales! (2019) and Quack Pack! (2020).
3. Scrooge in his skeleton costume at one point does the same kind of sideways step that was featured in the short The Skeleton Dance (1929).
4. One of the tombstones reads "Don't Call me Shirley!", a tribute to a line that was used in the film Airplane! (1980).
5. Donald in his angel costume resembles both his good conscious from the short Donald's Better Self (1938) and the costume that he was tricked into wearing by his nephews in the short Soup's On (1948).
6. One of the kids in Launchpad's flashback is dressed up as Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia (1940).
7. Mrs. Beakley can be seen briefly dressed as Darkwing Duck like she was in Friendship Hates Magic! (2019).
8. The Hockey Mask Launchpad wears during the episode is identical to the mask of Drake DuCane, the same mask Wildwing wears in "The Mighty Ducks" animated television show.
9. Frankenstein's Monster in this episode is played by Clancy Brown, who previously played it in the film The Bride (1985).
10. This episode's closing shot, a slow camera push revealing a closeup of a framed black and white group photo, is a parody of the closing shot of The Shining.
11. The ripped shirt worn by Frankenstein's Monster is similar to the one worn by Freddy in the film A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).
12. One of the kids in Launchpad's flashback is dressed as the tyrannosaurus rex seen in the episode "Time is Money Part 1" from the original series.
13. Huey's Gizmoduck Halloween outfit can be seen as a nod to New Gizmo-Kids on the Block (1990) from the original series, due to the fact the triplets got ahold of the miniaturized Gizmosuit after Fenton's mother accidentally shrunk it when she put it in the wash.
14. The original character was introduced - a real werewolf, half-duck, half-wolf, called Wereduck.
15. Doug Jones and Selma Blair previously worked together in the Hellboy films from the 2000's, Hellboy (2004) and Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008).
16. Mrs. Beakley has no dialogue in this episode, but her voice actor Toks Olagundoye is still credited.
17. At the end of the episode, Louie says to Launchpad "This is Halloween", a callback to the song from the Halloween themed Disney film The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
18. The mask for Scrooge's costume, especially when worn is similar in design to the head of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) which like this episode is also Halloween-themed.

The Forbidden Fountain of the Foreverglades!

1. This is the first time a villain (Ponce de Leon) died onscreen.
2. By the end of this episode, John D. Rockerduck is able to regain his youth, returning to the age he was at in The Outlaw Scrooge McDuck! (2019).
3. Ponce de Leon is named after Juan Ponce de León, a Spanish explorer and conquistador from the 15th century who was known for leading the first official European expedition to Florida and serving as the first governor of Puerto Rico.
4. The way that Webby fights off an Alligator in this episode was done in a similar way to how Scrooge did so in the episode "Treasure of the Golden Suns part 5" in the original series, only using Scrooge's cane instead of an oar.
5. The plot involving the Fountain of Youth is slightly similar to that of Sweet Duck of Youth (1987) from DuckTales (1987), which also had the Fountain set in a swampy area. However, in that episode, the Fountain of Youth only makes people look younger through their reflections, and it actually works in this episode.
6. This episode is partly inspired by Detour (1997), which had Ponce De Leon discovering the fountain of youth in Florida and became one with nature.
7. The way that Jeeves appears in resembles that of Frankenstein's Monster, and he is even listed as Frankenjeeves in the credits.

Let's Get Dangerous!

1. It is revealed that Glomgold's former employee Zan Owlson has become the mayor of St. Canard.
2. Due to the popularity of this episode, it was fully released on Disney XD's official YouTube channel the day after its original airing for free.
3. The reality that Scrooge and the boys are sent to spoofs a scene from Catch as Cash Can: Part 2 - A Whale of a Bad Time (1987) of the original series of Scrooge throwing a temper tantrum on a table about how a "sea monster" ate his "ice cream" (which was really part of his fortune being transported across the sea). Like that episode they are in their outfits from the original series (though the triplets did not wear their hats in the original scene), but the differences are the newer animation, the absence of Webby and Mrs. Beakley and a one-time character Mr. Wimpleman who were part of the scene in the original episode, Dewey who was sitting down at the table instead of standing up near the booth like in the original episode, Scrooge only doing the one pose, and the triplets' different hairstyles due to the changes made to them in the reboot.
4. Gosalyn uses a crossbow with trick arrows as her weapon. This can be seen as a reference to her superhero identity the Quiverwing Quack from the Darkwing Duck series, specifically the episodes, The Quiverwing Quack (1991) and Paint Misbehavin' (1992).
5. For Gosalyn's new character design, she is now wearing regular clothes instead of an oversized sports shirt like she did in Darkwing Duck (1991), though the sports shirt appears as a regular shirt (with the number 1 appearing on the left-hand side of her jacket as an additional homage), and her hair is now seen in a regular ponytail instead of in pig-tails. Also much like with Fenton and his mother, her origins were also changed into a Latin background and her feathers are darker than in Darkwing Duck (1991).
6. This is the first appearance of Gosalyn Waddlemayer in this series, who was Drake Mallard's adopted daughter. Unlike the Darkwing Duck (1991) series, she is called her original family name in this instead of Gosalyn Mallard, which she was called for in the majority of the Darkwing Duck (1991) series. Also Stephanie Beatriz takes over as her new voice actress, replacing the late Christine Cavanaugh (who had already retired from acting prior to her death).
7. Taurus Bulba from the one-hour premiere of Darkwing Duck (1991), Darkly Dawns the Duck: Part 1 (1991) appears in this, now voiced by James Monroe Iglehart with an American accent instead of Tim Curry (who hasn't been in as many acting roles since the mid 2010s due to health problems) with a German accent.
8. The two minor Darkwing Duck villains that Lauchpad and Gosalyn impersonate are Jambalaya Jake (with a fake alligator as part of the outfit to represent his alligator sidekick Gumbo) and The Bug Master. While Jake appeared in a two Darkwing Duck episodes Can't Bayou Love (1991) and Double Darkwings (1991), Bug Master is a one-time villain who only appeared in Fraudcast News (1992).
9. This episode marks the first canonical appearance of the Fearsome Five in the reboot (minus Negaduck, though Taurus Bulba serves as their leader in his place). Also this marks the first appearance of Bushroot, who unlike the rest did not appear in Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System! (2018). Unlike in Darkwing Duck (1991) in which Bushroot spoke and was voiced by the late Tino Insana, he only makes shrieking noises in this.
10. When Huey looks into his Missing Mystery book (to verify the Solego's Circuit connection to it which is the reason the Ramrod is dangerous to use due to using it as a key) it shows Solego, the creator of the circuit as a lizard-themed character who was described as a Mad Thinker. His name and character design is based off a comic book-exclusive Disney villain from Disney's now defunct comic magazine "Disney Adventures" who in that version was a sorcerer and was the main villain in a five-part crossover (known as The Legend of the Chaos God which was originally published in 1994) in the comic book series based on the Disney Afternoon TV Shows (from Part 1 to Part 5): TaleSpin (1990), Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers (1989), Goof Troop (1992), DuckTales (1987), and Darkwing Duck (1991). This is the character's first appearance in animation, though only as a cameo.
11. A grey suit can be seen in Darkwing's lair that loosely resembles the one worn by the Grey Ghost in Batman: The Animated Series (1992).
12. Keith Ferguson now voices Liquidator in addition to Megavolt. Previously in Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System! (2018), Corey Burton voiced Liquidator.
13. When Gosalyn is using the Ramrod to look into other universes, one of them is based off Fluppy Dogs (1986).
14. Huey speculates that that Bushroot may have been a scientist mutated by an experimental growth serum, a callback to Swamp Thing (1982) where the titular monster had the same kind of origin.
15. The new zombie-like appearance that Bushroot takes on evokes the appearance of the dead husks of himself seen in the Darkwing Duck (1991) episode Twin Beaks (1991).
16. Scrooge finally learns at the end of the episode about Bradford Buzzard's connection to F.O.W.L. when Black Heron shows up in a F.O.W.L. helicopter to retrieve him.
17. At one point in the episode, Dewey borrows Darkwing's smoke bombs and yells out "SMOKE BOMB!" upon tossing them, which itself is a callback to one of the attacks used by the titular character of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja (2012), who like Dewey is also voiced by Ben Schwartz.
18. This is the fourth overall episode to originally air as a one-hour special that gets split into two separate episodes during reruns, following Woo-oo! (2017), The Shadow War! (2018), and Moonvasion! (2019). It's also the only one-hour special to not be the first or last episode of a season and the only special that major characters are absent from (in this case being Donald, Webby, and Mrs. Beakley).
19. The computer Darkwing uses, WANDA, is probably a reference to JARVIS, the artificial intelligence assistant used by Iron Man.
20. Originally in an early version of the story Taurus Bubla was going to be arrested in the first part and he would have had a female assistant named Calfka whom was to be revealed as Jim Starling from The Duck Knight Returns! (2019) who just became Negaduck as the villain for the second part and he was to use the Ramrod to summon the Fearsome Four. But his appearance however was scrapped since the creators felt his role in this would be a disservice to the character by making him a lingering threat then use him again.
21. When this episode was edited into two separate half-hour episodes for the reruns, they were titled as "Part I: The St. Canardian Guardian!" and "Part II: A Case of Mistaken Reality!".
22. Michael Bell is the only actor to reprise a role from the original Darkwing Duck. In this case, it's Quackerjack.
23. Both Lin Manuel Miranda and Stephanie Beatriz later worked on Encanto.

The premise of this episode is slightly similar to that of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) where an imposingly built respected figure tries to activate a device that opens holes into other dimensions, and gets aided by other members of the hero's many enemies, whilst the hero himself is still trying to learn how to be a superhero.
25. Both Jameela Jamil (W.A.N.D.A.) and Marc Evan Jackson (Bradford Buzzard) had recurring roles (Tahani and Shawn, respectively) in "The Good Place" (2016-2020).
26. Part 1 when airing as two separate episodes is the 4th episode to not have the intro and simply displays the DuckTales Logo (albeit being Darkwing Duck purple in the fashion it was in The Duck Knight Returns' custom intro). The previous 3 episodes had been part 1 of the series premiere, Whatever Happened to Della Duck and Astro BOYD.
27. When airing as two separate episodes, Part 2 takes a similar approach to The Duck Knight Returns! (2019) of having the DuckTales logo in the opening recolored as purple to represent Darkwing Duck. The only slight difference is Della standing on the logo with the other main characters as she was originally added to the opening credits for Season 3.

Escape from the ImpossiBin!

1. Scrooge as he battles the robot bounces on it several times with his cane, paying tribute to his trademark move from the DuckTales (1989) video game and it's remake DuckTales: Remastered (2013).
2. Scrooge's password is revealed to the exact value of what's in his money bin.
3. Webby in her room has a poster of Ziggy Starduck, who is based off David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust alter ego.
4. All the books in the library that Louie throws to disable the gravity runes have titles relating to gravity and were published by the authors Thomas Finchon (based off Thomas Pynchon, the author of Rainbow's Gravity) and Sir Isaac Newt-hen (based off Sir Isaac Newton, who was known for his thesis on gravity).
5. The gravity-altering beams are named after Don Rosa, the author and illustrator of "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck."
6. This is the first time that Louie has been able to master diving into the money bin successfully.
7. The large security robot guarding the money bin in this episode bares a slight resemblance the the titular robots from the original DuckTales (1987) episode "Robot Robbers".
8. It is revealed at the end that FOWL managed to discovery all of the recently discovered missing mysteries: Gene the Genie from Quack Pack! (2020), the Harp of Mervana from The Lost Harp of Mervana! (2020), the Fountain of Youth from The Forbidden Fountain of the Foreverglades! (2020), and Solego's circuit from Let's Get Dangerous! (2020).
9. The way that Della struggles with a stapler prior to being stopped by Scrooge shortly afterward was done in the same way that Donald did so in Woo-oo! (2017).
10. The money bin's security system was previously brought up in The 87 Cent Solution! (2019).
11. The title is a play on the phrase "escape from the impossible."

The Split Sword of Swanstantine!

1. A poster of Flintheart Glomgold is seen at the spice tavern where it states they are not to accept checks from him.
2. The scene in the spice den contains several references to Indiana Jones. The spice eating competition mirrors Marion Ravenwood's introductory scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), the guy being put in a cage is a reference to the sacrifice scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), and the spice baron is dressed like Indiana Jones himself.
3. Swanstantine is based off Constantine, a Roman Emperor of the 4th century who was the first one to have converted to Christianity and had been known for his sword.
4. Various minor enemies of the Ducks from throughout the series can be seen at the spice tavern in Istanbird, including Hack Smashnikov, Don Karnage's Sky Pirates, and the Biker Couple from Tokyolk.
5. In accordance to renaming real-life locations with bird/duck-themed names, Istanbul is renamed as Istanbird for this episode.
6. Huey calls his enraged persona with red eyes "The Duke of Making of a Mess," which could actually be a callback to one of the things he said previously in The Infernal Internship of Mark Beaks! (2017) upon having a mental breakdown.
7. Steelbeak's original voice actor, Rob Paulsen, voices the Istanbird Bazaar host.
8. Rob Paulsen voiced the original Steelbeak from Darkwing Duck, as well as "the mask" (from the mask the animated series). In this episode Huey uses one of the mask's running gags, the "atomic wedgie" on Steelbeak (also featured in Jim Carrey's the mask, the movie)
9. It is revealed that Rockerduck can handle the intense spices being served in the spice tavern due to having lost his sense of taste from being cryogenically preserved.

New Gods on the Block!

1. The episode opens with Scrooge and the others going after the helmet of Henghis Khan, who is based off Mongolian Warrior Genghis Khan. This parallels to the episode "The Lost Crown of Genghis Khan" in the original series which was centered around Scrooge and the others partaking in a competition to find the titular crown, only then Genghis Khan was still named Genghis Khan.
2. As Donald and Daisy begin to kiss, the tune to "Hear my Voice" from "Louie's Eleven" can be heard in the background.
3. The title is based on the phrase "New Kids on the Block," which has also been used in various media sources as well as the name of a boy band, New Kids on the Block. The phrase was also used in the title of New Gizmo-Kids on the Block (1990) of DuckTales (1987).
4. Louie's golden touch is an allusion to the story of King Midas, which, like Hercules, Zeus, et al, is from Greek mythology, in addition to the titular Golden Goose from The Golden Goose: Part 1 (1990) of DuckTales (1987).
5. Scrooge's second team that he was initially going to form consists of Penumbra, Mrs. Quackfaster, and D'Jinn.
6. Crownus is a play on Cronus the King of the Titans and father of the six original Olympic gods (Zeus, Hera, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon and Hestia).
7. The Titan using itself as a prison to whoever it eats could be a callback to the undead monster D'Compose from the animated series InHumanoids (1986).
8. This is the seventh episode of DuckTales (2017) to play a shorter version of the intro. The previous six were The Great Dime Chase! (2017), Last Christmas! (2018), Friendship Hates Magic! (2019), Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks! (2020), Double-O-Duck in You Only Crash Twice! (2020) and The Trickening! (2020).

The First Adventure!

1. This episode plays on the original reason why Donald put his nephews in Scrooge's care. In the original comics in which is based the series, Dumbella (as she was called originally instead of Della, Donald's sister) sent a letter to Donald saying that while the boys (Huey, Dewey and Louie ) are "angels", their father had an accident when they put firecrackers under his chair. In the reboot, during the The First Adventure", instead of the three kids being left with Scrooge, he has to take care of Donald and Della duck when they where young kids. The letter that Scrooge's sister sends him with the brothers says almost verbatim the words of the letter in the comics. In fact, Della and Donald are also guilty of putting fireworks under their father chair and sending him to the hospital.
2. This is the second episode of DuckTales (2017) that Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby are all absent from, following Whatever Happened to Della Duck?! (2019), which also took place in a flashback.
3. This marks the first time that the Disney Comic character Yellow Beak, a pirate-themed parrot is used in animation.
4. Cristina Valenzuela takes over as Young Donald, following Russi Taylor's untimely death since Last Christmas! (2018).
5. The shirt that Donald wears under his flannel is similar to the Nirvana logo of an x-eyed smiley face, drawn by frontman Kurt Cobain.
6. Young Donald is the fourth character in DuckTales (2017) to have been recast partway through the series. The other three characters had been Hack Smashnikov, BOYD, and Liquidator.
7. The papyrus works similar to the literal translations in the cartoon Beetlejuice. In said cartoon, metaphors and hyperbole become physically literal and end up hurting whomever said them.
8. Much like with the Christmas past segment from Last Christmas! (2018), the events here take place before the events of the series premiere Woo-oo! (2017), which like the former takes place while Duckworth was still alive.

The Fight for Castle McDuck!

1. Much like Scrooge's voice actor David Tennant, Michelle Gomez who voices his sister Matilda previously appeared in Doctor Who (2005), though they never interacted, due to Gomez' character appearing during the seasons that had Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.
2. In addition to his usual role as Scrooge, David Tennant also voices the statue of Dirty Dingus McDuck.
3. Premiered on the same day as Matilda's voice actress Michelle Gomez' 54th birthday, as well as the same day that the original Doctor Who (1963) series premiered in 1963.
4. Matilda McDuck's first appearance in Animation.
5. Matilda McDuck is the elder of Scrooge's two sisters. His younger sister, Hortense (who's only animated appearances to date have been in the form of pictures like on Webby's wall), is the mother of Donald and Della.
6. Giancarlo Esposito (the Phantom Blot) and Amy Sedaris (Pepper) both previously appeared in live action reboots of Disney Animated Feature Films that were directed by Jon Favreau. They also both previously appeared in episodes of The Mandalorian (2019), which also had Favreau's involvement.
7. Matilda is younger due to spending more time in Castle McDuck, which keeps the inhabitants from aging thanks to the cursed druid stones.
8. After Pepper tells Blot none of the other Eggheads will work with him due to disliking his attitude, he decides to treat her as an equal as she chose to work with him.

How Santa Stole Christmas!

1. Hugh Bonneville also voiced Santa Claus in the TV film adaption of Stick Man (2015).
2. The doll Santa brings Jennifer is of Eleanor Roostervelt, a clear reference to Eleanor Roosevelt, influential wife of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Her uncle, President Theodore Roosevelt, encountered Scrooge in the graphic novel "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck."
3. Jennifer is the second character in DuckTales (2017) to not be voiced by an adult, with Abby Ryder Fortson having been about 11 or 12 years old when she recorded her lines for the character.
4. The title is a reference to Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Another connection to that story is that Jennifer is partly based off Cindy Lou and that Santa calls Scrooge a Grinch.
5. This is the third episode in the series to be a Christmas-themed episode after The Impossible Summit of Mt. Neverrest! (2017) and Last Christmas! (2018).
6. The custom intro that was featured in Last Christmas! (2018) is used again with this episode except Della is added in.
7. The Feliz Navidiamond's name is based on "Feliz Navidad," which means "Merry Christmas" in Spanish and is the name of a song by José Feliciano.
8. Santa Claus, unlike previous media in the Mickey Mouse Universe, is an anthropomorphic polar bear who was previously shown as an inflatable in Last Christmas! (2018) and as one of the drawings of Scrooge's enemies in Jaw$! (2018), which is fitting because he resides at the North Pole. This is also the second time in animated media that Santa is in a setting with anthropomorphic animals and no humans and is portrayed as polar bear. The first was Danger Mouse (2015).
9. At one point during the battle against the Snowman Monster, Scrooge calls it Frosty, paying tribute to the titular character of Frosty the Snowman (1969).
10. Santa breaking his leg in this episode could possibly be a callback to a similar situation that happened in A Flintstone Christmas (1977), only this time he was actually faking it in order to convince Scrooge to help him out.

Beaks in the Shell!

1. The episode's title is based off the cyberpunk manga series "Ghost in the Shell" by Shirow Masamune.
2. Writer Benjamin Siemon posted on Twitter that in a deleted scene the young female pig who beat the younger Gandra Dee in the science fair (as seen in the hologram) would have been named Tammy Jenkins, the older sister of Dewey's rival, Timmy Jenkins, previously seen in They Put a Moonlander on the Earth! (2020).
3. The power armor that Gyro and Lil Bulb use in the Gizmocloud is the same sort of armor that Lil Bulb created for himself when briefly turning against the others in The Great Dime Chase! (2017), of which can also be seen in the intro of Season 1.
4. Gandra Dee decides to quit F.O.W.L., which makes her the only F.O.W.L. agent to truly reform. Though she is captured, she later returns in the series finale The Last Adventure! (2021). This can be seen as part of a reoccurring theme of each season in which a character working for a villain attempts to part from them only for that villain they work for to interfere with them doing so.
5. This marks the third time that Louie has shown the ability to do a successful impression of Huey's voice.
6. At one point, Gandra Dee teases Beaks for having a "big head". This seems to be a reference to Josh Brener's (who plays Beaks) character from Silicon Valley, Nelson "Big Head" Baghetti.
7. It is revealed that Beaks was once a huge media star, but after failing to create devices that function properly, he was deemed a fallen star and eventually became unrecognizable.

The Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker!

1. The door to the lavatory (toilet) on Kit Cloudkicker's plane has a sign that says "The Woods" on it. That is a joke based the famous saying, "Does a bear shit in the woods?" Kit Cloudkicker is the bear, and that's where he...
2. Even though Season 3 ended up being the series' last and had even been made in a way to accompany such, Francisco Angones did confirm that he initially had plans to do a follow up to this episode revealing the fates of other TaleSpin (1990) characters had there been another season.
3. Kit and Molly's respective voice actors Adam Pally and Eliza Coupe previously appeared together in the live action sitcom series Happy Endings (2011).
4. It is revealed that Della had been teaching her son Dewey how to fly a plane. This skill would later come in handy during the series finale The Last Adventure! (2021).
5. The Magic Stone has Bumblion carved into it from The Wuzzles (1985).
6. Kit's voice actor Adam Pally previously appeared alongside Dewey's voice actor Ben Schwartz in the live action/cgi film Sonic the Hedgehog (2020) and the animated Disney XD series Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja (2012).
7. At the beginning, The Papyrus of Binding from The First Adventure! (2020) can be seen in Isabella Finch's journal.
8. Considering the constant eviction notices on the door of Kit's home, it is possible that the landowners gave up on kicking him out and moved away from him instead.
9. The Sky Pirate that gets merged with a snail resembles one of the Snail People from the manga series Uzumaki by Junji Ito.
10. Adam Pally (Kit Cloudkicker) and Eliza Coupe (Molly Cunningham) previously co-starred on the sitcom Happy Endings (2011).

The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck!

1. This marks the first and only appearance of Magica's brother, Poe De Spell, in DuckTales (2017) as well as the first time in animation where he's been seen as an anthropomorphic duck. The flashback showing off Magica's case against Scrooge shows Poe being turned into a non-anthropomorphic raven like he was throughout DuckTales (1987) along with him flying off rather then still remaining by his sister's side.
2. The title is a reference to the classic Don Rosa comic involving Scrooge known as "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck."
3. The flashback of Glomgold's case against Scrooge features Webra Walters, a news reporter from Duck Week Magazine seen in a few episodes of DuckTales (1987), who along with Oprah Webfeet played the same type of role that Roxanne Featherly plays in DuckTales (2017) and is now also voiced by Kari Wahlgren in place of the late Joan Gerber. The character was based on Barbara Walters and had been known for having a speech impediment.
4. Poe's role in Magica's story was to serve as the level-headed one to keep Magica from getting "too carried away" with her actions. This personality trait of Magica's was previously mentioned in Send in the Clones (1987) from DuckTales (1987) and in DuckTales: Remastered (2013).
5. The De Spell flashback stars three voice actors who portray major roles in the "Nativity!" film series. Poe De Spell is voiced by Martin Freeman, who plays the lead character Paul in Nativity! (2009). Scrooge McDuck is voiced by David Tennant, who plays the lead character Donald in Nativity 2: Danger in the Manger! (2012). Magica De Spell is voiced by [title=nm0851113], who plays the lead character's love interest, Sophie, in Nativity 3: Dude, Where's My Donkey?! (2014).
6. Scrooge was actually in the right for two of the three cases against him. Glomgold and Ma Beagle were already going down the road to being villains due to their egos; Scrooge only sparked their paths by circumstance.
7. Magica is the only one with a real grievance against Scrooge. The loss of her brother, even when Scrooge has the chance to help. Louie admits that he cannot defend against that as his lawyer, as unlike Glomgold and Ma Beagle, Scrooge legitimately was callous enough to not help.
8. The reason Magica doesn't like Lena calling her aunt makes sense now. As her scepter is made from both her and Poe's amulets, Lena is likely born of Poe's magic and therefore is his daughter via magic. Having a reminder of the family she lost being around was likely too much and infuriating; no wonder she sent Lena back into her shadow.
9. Louie sees he could have ended up like Scrooge and have a bunch of enemies. So he decides to nip it in the bud and give Doofus a legitimate apology.

The Last Adventure!

1. Instead of the regular end credits like in the previous episodes, the series ends when an accident Launchpad causes causing all the characters aboard the Sunchaser to be sucked out and the credits roll in the form of movie credits as the characters are seen falling with style. However, when aired as three separate episodes, the regular end credits are used for the first two parts.
2. Features four former cast members from the sitcom Community (2009): Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, Paget Brewster, and Keith David
3. Bradford reveals that he was the one responsible for telling Della Duck about the Spear of Selene, knowing that she couldn't resist taking it out for a test run even though it wasn't ready. This reveals he was directly responsible for Scrooge's family breaking apart, and also for Scrooge to temporarily retire from adventuring before the triplets help snap him out of it in the series premiere Woo-oo! (2017). Bradford was also technically indirectly responsible for both Magica De Spell's revival and attack on Duckburg, (as seen in The Shadow War! (2018)) since Scrooge was easier to get to for Magica's plan to succeed as a result of his family deserting him because of the rift, and the Moonlander's invasion by General Lunaris (as seen in Moonvasion! 4. When aired as three separate episodes, each part had been titled "A Tale of Three Webbys!," "The Lost Library of Isabella Finch," and "Tale's End," respectively, the latter of which refers to it being the series finale.
5. The character May is a clone of Webby. May is voiced by Riki Lindhome and Webby is voiced by Kate Micucci, together they are the comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates.
6. When Huey is shown the original Isabella Finch journal, there is a drawing of a triangle creature with one eye. This is a reference to the animated Disney show Gravity Falls (2012), as the main antagonist of the show is a triangle with one eye, known as Bill Cipher.

This marks the only appearance of Daisy's nieces May and June in DuckTales (2017), who made their first animated appearance in Legend of the Three Caballeros (2018) over 60 years after first appearing in the Disney Ducks Comic "Flip Decision." Unlike that series where they and April were all voiced by Jessica DiCicco, they like Donald's nephews in this series each have their own voice actresses. Webby (April in this series) was originally created for DuckTales (1987) and had been based off Daisy's nieces (which like Webby, April also has a pink-themed color). Also instead of being related to Daisy, the three are clones created from Scrooge McDuck's tail-feather, making Scrooge genetically Webby's father, and Mrs. Beakley simply adopted her upon finding her on a mission. This was first hinted in The Lost Harp of Mervana! (2020) when the aforementioned harp hinted on Mrs. Beakley still keeping secrets from Webby.
8. The design of the mechanical crab prop from Funzo (which F.O.W.L. also had security cameras installed in) is based off Sebastian from The Little Mermaid (1989).
9. HIDDEN MICKEY: Shown on the tag on the tag of Donald's Hawaiian shirt (though a clip of the Mickey Melon from Moonvasion! (2019) is also seen in this episode). Additionally both the shirt and Della's line "What do you think this is, 1996" are both nods to Quack Pack (1996) (as Donald wore a Hawaiian shirt in that series).
10. Among the silhouettes in the FOWL Headquarters includes the titular character of Count Duckula (1988), who whilst not associated with Disney did serve inspiration for Dracula Duck's design in DuckTales: Remastered (2013).
11. During the battle against Jeeves, Scrooge bounces on top of him with his cane like a pogo stick, paying tribute to his trademark move from DuckTales (1989), it's sequel DuckTales 2 (1993), and it's remake DuckTales: Remastered (2013).

After having thought to now be deceased in the Present Time, Ludwig Von Drake is revealed to still be alive, having been captured by FOWL for many years and was kept busy to the point where he hadn't been able to age since the 1960s (of which can also allude to the fact that characters in the Mickey Mouse Universe are usually always the same age in all their appearances, albeit how old they actually are being unrevealed).
13. Isabella Finch is revealed to be Bradford Buzzard's grandmother, albeit being a different species.

The F.O.W.L. project that Webby was created Project 87 is a nod to DuckTales (1987), due to both being the premiere year of the original series and also the year that Webby's original counterpart debuted, as Webby was originally created for the original series and did not appear in any Disney Ducks Comics.
15. It is revealed that Darkwing is far too ignorant to realize that Fenton is Gizmoduck and is the only known character incapable of figuring it out.
16. There are numerous references to the series premiere Woo-oo! (2017) in this episode. Firstly Huey, Dewey, and Louie are tied up like they were when they first met Webby. Secondly May and June are trapped in a room with marbles, similar to what Mrs. Beakley did after the boys arrived at the mansion. Lastly, when Donald saves Scrooge from Bradford, he and Scrooge address each other in the same manner as they did when Donald dropped the boys off at the mansion.
17. Launchpad is mistaken by Darkwing to be Gizmoduck. This previously happened in the original series by Huey, Dewey, and Louie in the episode A Case of Mistaken Secret Identity (1989).

This episode contains the largest amount of characters to appear in the entire series (though a large portion of the characters either appear in cameos as seen with the silhouettes in F.O.W.L.'s prison or they just appear physically with no dialogue). This also has the largest amount of cast members used with a total of 41 (which this record was previously held with the episode Moonvasion! (2019) which had 31 cast members).
19. Objects from the films The Mummy (1999) and National Treasure (2004) can be seen in the Junior Woodchuck Guidebook as Bradford completes it with Isabelle Finch's journal.

21. When Scrooge signs the contract giving up adventure, Bradford boasts, "I did it! The great Scrooge McDuck, now only a poor old man!" "Only a Poor Old Man" is the title story in Carl Barks' first issue of Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge comics published in March 1952.
22. Because this is the final episode of the series, it is the only season finale to not tease anything like how The Shadow War! (2018) teased Della's eventual return and Moonvasion! (2019) teased F.O.W.L. playing a prominent role in season 3, although there have been teasers of possible spinoffs in the future.

To honor the conclusion of this series, once this episode first aired, it was reran mulitple times in a twenty-four hour block on Disney XD, much like how all the past episodes were reran multiple times within a week as part of a DuckTales twenty-four hour block before this episode aired on Disney XD following the airing of The Life and Crimes of Scrooge McDuck! (2021).
24. Much like with the previous multi-part episodes (Woo-oo! (2017), The Shadow War! (2018), Moonvasion! (2019), and Let's Get Dangerous! (2020)) this episode also initially airs as a longer episode in it's first airing and then is split into separate episodes during its re-airing. The only major difference with this episode is instead of being made of two episodes from a hour-long run, this episode instead is made of three episodes from an hour and a half-long run.
25. Donald's desire to travel the world which he mentions on traveling the world with Daisy on his houseboat was also his reason for joining the Navy in the original series.

It is implied in the last part of the episode that Donald is planning to adopt May and June as he refers to them as stowaways to Daisy on the phone as he plans to include them in his world cruise tour with Daisy, although since they like Webby are technically his first cousins, he could've meant something else with that statement.

Webby being April was hinted at prior to premiering when the episode's synopsis only confirmed May and June along with their respective voice actresses, in addition to what promos were able to be shown of the episode prior. Her origins were even hinted at a few times throughout the series' runtime, for instance with the pose that she makes in front of a statue of Scrooge in the first episode.
28. Ludwig Von Drake whilst in his prison cell sings a blue song similar to what he sang in his first appearance.
29. Webby's revealed origins are similar to that of Loki in Thor (2011) and Cammy and the Dolls in Street Fighter Alpha 3 (1998). The fact that she's also Scrooge's daughter having been cloned from his DNA also alludes to The Doctor's Daughter (2008) where the 10th Doctor (played by Scrooge's voice actor David Tennant) is revealed to have a daughter that like Webby had been cloned from him. Scrooge meanwhile upon discovering how a kid he had a mentor relationship is actually his child alludes to a similar moment from Epilogue (2005).
30. This is the second time in the series (after The Forbidden Fountain of the Foreverglades! (2020)) a villain is killed on-screen. This also makes it the only time it includes major villains (Black Heron, and Bradford's brothers/clones).
31. Bradford's brothers Bentley and Buford are revealed to be clones that were created in the same way as May and June, which includes having the Fountain of Youth be used to make them a specific age and having the Stone of What was to make them into two.
32. It makes sense Magica agrees with Bradford's plea that he isn't a villain. The man denied his evil, while she, Glomgold and the Beagles are 100% accepting that they are evil. You don't even need to be smart, seeing as Glomgold is an imbecile; just so long as you own up to your deeds.
33. About five minutes into the first part, after the group splits up, behind Scrooge McDuck and his team is a sign that reads, "This department has worked 322 days without an accident." The number 322 is a reference to this being Season 3, Episode 22.

(2020)), and the Rescue Rangers (referencing Double-O-Duck in You Only Crash Twice! (2020)).

36. Manny is supposed to usher in the apocalypse, but he doesn't want that job anymore. So he reluctantly reveals his full power to fight the Blot.

Bradford's defeat which had him being turned into a non-anthropomorphic version of his own species also happened in the original DuckTales (1987) episode "Home Sweet Homer" with Circe, a sorceress in the form of an anthropomorphic pig who'd turn others into non-anthropomorphic pigs (which included her pet cat), and would eventually be turned into a non-anthropomorphic pig herself after the triplets destroyed her medallion.
40. Though not all the characters that each represent a Disney Afternoon show does not physically or has a direct nod, they are shown from a clip from a past episode of, via the camera images seen at F.O.W.L. headquarters that was shown by Bradford to Scrooge. This consists of the Gummi Bears (which both this and the Gummi Berry Juice that appears in Part 1 are from From the Confidential Casefiles of Agent 22! (2018)), Bonkers (from Let's Get Dangerous! (2020)), and the Wuzzles (from The Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker! (2021)). Also while Goofy's guest appearance is not shown (from Quack Pack! (2020)), however Bradford's line during his speech "troupe of goofs" is a direct reference to Goof Troop (1992). Notably Bradford's speech relating to the past thirty years is a direct nod to Disney Afternoon itself, with each phrase referencing a main Disney Afternoon show, including DuckTales, itself (though the Disney Afternoon shows directly connected to or a spin-off of a Disney film are not counted excluding TaleSpin (1990)).
41. While this may be only three-part episode in the series, it is also the second time in the series that the same story is told over three episodes after Season 2's Timephoon! (2019), GlomTales! (2019), and The Richest Duck in the World! (2019), which focused on Louie and the events of him being punished for starting up the titular Timephoon and his later scheme that caused him to briefly become the richest duck in the world before returning the fortune back to Scrooge.
42. Parts 1 and 2 when airing as three separate episodes is the 5th and 6th episodes respectively and the last one to not have the intro and simply displays the DuckTales Logo. The other 4 had been part 1 of Woo-oo!, Whatever Happened to Della Duck?, Astro BOYD and part 1 of Let's Get Dangerous!. This also makes this the only multi-part episode to do this with more than one part.
43. Manny's transformation into his final form can possibly be a callback to Sleepy Hollow (1999), which had the Headless Horseman gain a skull to regrow his head.
44. The last page of Bradford's contract on the Papyrus actually contains an obfuscated version of the text "will be no surrender. We will wipe your filth from the galaxy. float. We've pulled crazier stunts than this. I have an urgent communique. There will be no terms, there will be no surrender. We will wipe your filth from the galaxy!". This is a melange of quotes from Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017), the shortest extract being "float." from Rey's description of the Force, "a power that Jedi have that lets them control people and make things float."
45. In this final episode, mainly the first half hour, you notice several times Webby is wearing Lena Sabrewings friendship bracelet despite what Webby says about "these friendship bracelets we never take off." and how she was never shown to wear any other friendship bracelet but her own. We also notice at one point that, right after Webby mentions "these friendship bracelets we never take off" and we see a closeup of her friendship bracelet, that there is a pattern mistake on her bracelet. It should be pink green pink purple pink and not pink green pink green pink.
46. When Webby says "and these friendship bracelets we never take off" we know it to be untrue since at the end of Jaw$ during season 1, Lena Sabrewing removes her friendship bracelet and also in season 1 during the shadow war we see Webbys bracelet come off and in season 2 "Friendship Hates Magic" Webby removes her bracelet in front of Violet.
47. Scrooge using a chunk of debris to shield himself and the others from powerful attacks could be a callback to a similar moment from the final episode of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (2010) where Twilight Sparkle's friends all shield her from a magical onslaught with a piece of wall.
