1. At Will's Will-o-Ween party, Marcus gets trapped inside a photo booth when they move it against the wall to make more room for dancing. As he is desperate to escape, he begins taking his own picture, and the four-frame strips begin dispensing onto the floor, where Will finally sees them. In one strip, Marcus uses the four frames to spell out H-E-L-P with his left hand in American Sign Language.

1. This episode has one of TV's most ubiquitous easy-laugh short jokes, arguably a cliché at least since the early 1980s, and usually presented with very little variation in the script. A group of people are watching a live birth, a video of a live birth, or viewing a sonogram, and someone makes a remark implying that the baby boy is well-endowed, to which someone else in the group replies, "That's the umbilical cord." Here, it's Andy who makes himself a fool when he notes, "Oh, look: it's a . . . a very gifted boy."

1. Another crossover to "Parenthood". Crosby is in this episode and mentions recording a song at The Luncheonette which is the studio he and Adam Braverman own in "Parenthood". And in looking back to an episode of "Parenthood", Will Freeman was at a poker party Crosby and Adam held at the luncheonette.
2. The sequence of Joshie's bar mitzvah celebration was shot in an historic building in Los Angeles, California, completed in 1926 as the Elk's Temple (Lodge #99), and later repurposed as the Park Plaza Hotel, and more recently The Macarthur (a "special events venue"). The building's Wikipedia page lists more than forty movies, TV series and music videos filmed there.
