  1. Gripe water is a non-prescription product for colic in babies. It formerly contained alcohol, sugar, and sodium bicarbonate.
  2. REME stands for Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. The Corps was established during WWII.

  2. Alma Cogan was an English singer popular in the 1950s and early 1960s, known as "the Girl with the Giggle in Her Voice". Her hit records include "Why Do Fools Fall in Love", "Sugartime", and "Bell Bottom Blues". She was one of the earliest UK recording artists to make frequent appearances on TV.
  3. The fuzzy image of Earth, the first photo of the planet taken by a satellite, was transmitted by Explorer 6 in August 1959.
