1. At the river, Eddie Harp calls Malachi Strand "Wahoo"; this is a reference to the former Cleveland Indians mascot Chief Wahoo.
2. Walt and Vic check between the murder victim's toes for track marks from heroin use. Coincidentally, Lou diamond Phillips starred in Courage Under Fire where one of his comrades, played by Matt Damon, hid his heroin addiction by injecting between his toes.
3. Patricia Bethune and Robert Baker both previously starred on the television series Grey's Anatomy, as Nurse Ginger and Dr. Charles Percy, respectively.
4. Dylan Walsh (Shane Muldoon) starred on Nip/Tuck and Katee Sackhoff played a recurring role on Nip/Tuck. Their characters had a romantic relationship.
5. The director on this episode, James M. Muro, worked with Graham Greene (Malachi Strand) on Dances With Wolves. James M. Muro was a camera and steadicam operator, and Graham Greene played Kicking Bird.
