Season 4

Down by the River

1. Cancelled by A&E in 2014, Longmire was picked up by Netflix for the fourth season.
2. As the superstition goes, a cowboy hat should be stored with the opening facing up, so as to "catch luck" inside of it. Alternatively, laying a hat with the opening down allows all the luck to fall out. Walt first places Branch's hat brim up at the funeral and then, knowing the circumstances, turns it brim down.
3. The funeral scene was filmed at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Las Vegas, New Mexico. This was identified by the stained glass window where Walt is standing. (And by the sign outside the church.)
4. Before telling Cady about Branch, Ferg says "Shit" as he prepares to deliver the news. This is the first time in the series someone besides Vic has said the word.
5. In either this episode or one of the following ones, when Walt's office phone rings it has a 'British' or 'European' ring tone not a North American ring tone.
6. Graham Greene (Malachi Strand) and Apesanahkwat (Older Cheyenne Man) went on to work together again on the movie Wind River (2017).
7. Lou Diamond Phillips starred in a movie called Sioux City in 1994, along side Apesanahkwat (Older Cheyenne Man).
8. When Henry is returning the defense money, he talks about people leaving notes for Hector at the wall, he points toward the wall with pursed lips, which is a very Native American thing to do. It is very common among the Navajo.

War Eagle

1. The War Eagle camp featured in this episode is fictitious but is probably based on the real life internment camp Heart Mountain Relocation Center located near Ralston, WY. The camp was named after the nearby Mt. Heart which dominated the skyline beyond the camp; a similar vista is shown at the War Eagle camp in this episode.
2. Michelle Krusiec (Shiori Igawa) has shows in common with several of the series regular actors from Longmire. Katee Sackhoff (ER and Nip/Tuck), Lou Diamond Phillips (Hawaii Five-0), Cassidy Freeman (NCIS, CSI:Miami, CSI:NY), and A Martinez (General Hospital)

Four Arrows

1. Peter Weller's last lines are an adaptation of the last lines of Flannery O'Connor's short story, "A Good Man is Hard to Find."
2. As he walks by Deputy O'Neill, Lucian Connally tells him "hold down the fort, Ringo". The reference is to Ringo Starr, who was the last member to join the Beatles, just as Deputy O'Neill is the last deputy to join the team.
3. Molly Burnett (Sarah) and A Martinez both used to act on Soap Opera's Days of Our Lives and General Hospital.

1. Stefany Mathias, the actress playing Linda the mother is only 9 years older than Julia Jones, the actress playing Gabriella her daughter. (Gabriella is a family friend, not the character's daughter.)
2. Both Katee Sackhoff (Victoria Moretti) and Callum Keith Rennie (Walker Browning) both appeared on 'Battlestar Galactica.'
3. The woman playing the medicine woman in the sweat lodge near the end of the episode is NZ actress Rena Owen who had the lead (female) role in Once Were Warriors and What Becomes of the Broken Hearted.
4. Julia Jones (Gabriella Langton) and Graham Greene (Malachi Strand) were both in the Twilight franchise, but were not in the same movie(s). They did work together on the movie Wind River and TV show Goliath.

1. The song playing during the dancehall scene is called "Ain't no bad time" by Craig Stull
2. The scene where Cady exits the bar and sees Henry washing the mud off his boots at his truck was filmed at a building on S. Main Street in Taos, NM. The Dollar General store in the background of the shot is located at the intersection of S. Main (Hwy 63) and NM 50.
3. Tom Wopat (Sheriff Jim Wilkins) and Julia Jones (Gabriella Langton) were both in the movie Jonah Hex.

Shotgun

1. Henry's truck is a 1958 GMC 100 with two driver's side mirrors - one rectangular mirror below the driver's window (that is removed mid-episode) and one round "peep" mirror that is attached to the door frame.
