- Characters throughout the episode question whether the murder is random or part of a larger terrorist attack. They quickly determine that they have a regular, targeted murder on their hands, and someone mentions the fact that the best place for a terrorist attack would be at the start or finish lines to maximize casualties.Sadly, the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing did feature bombs detonated near the finish line. Since this episode aired almost three years before the real-life bombing, it's possible that the bombers could have gotten the idea for their plot from the show.
