- Sam Jaeger, who plays Joel Graham, directs this episode. He is the second cast member to get behind the camera after Peter Krause (who plays Adam Braverman) who directed episode 3x15 Politics. Although credited, Miles Heizer (Drew Holt) does not appear in this episode.
- Max talks to a girl at school about the vending machine. This girl is in the show 13 Reasons Why with Miles Heizer, Drew.
