London: Part 1
S06E01 Episode aired 26 September 2013
- Production briefly moved to London to allow Andy (Chris Pratt) to make an appearance, as he was in England filming Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
- Andy's (Chris Pratt) significant weight loss is briefly mentioned by Ben (Adam Scott). This is in reference to Pratt's transformation for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). In actuality, Pratt underwent a strenuous exercise regimen, although Andy simply comments that he lost 50 lbs. just by giving up beer for one month.
- Ann and Chris have a doctor's visit with Ann's ob/gyn (Henry Winkler), who also turns out to be the father of Jean-Ralphio and Mona-Lisa Saperstein. His character was named after Dr. Sapirstein, the doctor in Rosemary's Baby (1968) who helps trick Rosemary into giving birth to the devil's child.
- Peter Serafinowicz (Lord Edgar Covington) and Chris Pratt (Andy Dwyer) had great chemistry as they were already shooting Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) together at the same time in London.
- Lord Covington (Peter Serafinowicz) agrees with Andy that his noble title (14th Earl of Cornwall-Upon-Thames and the 29th Baron of Hertfordshire) must be a "stupid joke," the additional joke being that the River Thames is nowhere near Cornwall.
London: Part 2

- While Andy (Chris Pratt) talks with April (Aubrey Plaza) about how things in London are different than they are in the United States, he mentions Piccadilly Circus and how he saw a bearded lady who "got all rude when I marveled at her". This is possibly a reference to the Jethro Tull song "Mother Goose". The lyrics include: "And the foreign student said to me, 'Is it really true, there are elephants, lions too, in Piccadilly Circus?'" And: "And the bearded lady said to me, if you start your raving, and your misbehaving, you'll be sorry".
- Ann mentions to Chris that Olive would be a good name for a girl. It is later shown that she and Chris name their first child Oliver.
The Pawnee-Eagleton Tip Off Classic

- During the Pawnee-Eagleton tip-off game, Leslie makes a statement about how the Eagleton players could not be in high school. The tall basketball player who dunks on Pawnee is the Miami Heat basketball player Chris Bosh.
- Kristen Bell and Adam Scott previously worked together when he guest starred on an episode of the short-lived but much-loved series Veronica Mars (2004) (in which Kristen had a starring role) and when she guest starred on Party Down (2009) (in which Adam had a starring role).
- Kristen Bell, who appears in this episode as Ingrid De Forest, stars with occasional Parks and Recreation actor Ben Schwartz (Jean-Ralphio Saperstein) in House of Lies (2012).
- The outside view of the building that Ben, Leslie, and Chris go to in Eagleton is the actual City Hall in Las Vegas, NV.

- In the scene where Donna is informed that she accidentally sent out an inappropriate personal tweet from the Parks & Rec Twitter account, she mentions an effective neck-massager, which in reality is a specialized vibrating sex toy.
- Tom talks in a British accent to Nadia, who is played by Canadian actress Tatiana Maslany. Maslany, using a fake British accent, starred in the BBC America show "Orphan Black," in which she plays a British woman named Sarah Manning. Aziz Ansari, who plays Tom, is a huge fan of that show.
- Throughout the rest of the season various items can be seen with the question mark stickers on them.

- For Ben's 90's themed birthday party, everyone dresses as they were in the 90's Rob Lowe, who plays Chris is wearing the same outfit that he wore in The Outsiders (1983). The Outsiders was actually released in the 80's.
- Leslie is wearing Moxi roller skates in this episode.

- During the haunted house when Leslie (Amy Poehler) is talking to a group of children she says "nothing gold can stay". This is a reference to a poem by Robert Frost made famous by S.E. Hinton's novel "The Outsiders". Rob Lowe (Chris Traeger) played Sodapop Curtis in the movie adaptation of the novel.
- During the scene where Leslie recites the poem to the children and Ben removes her from the room, they are dressed as Wesley (as Dread Pirate Roberts) and Buttercup, and one of the children is dressed as a Rodent of Unusual Size.

- Among the Japanese paraphernalia in Councilman Jamm's home is a poster written in Kanji (visible over his shoulder as he cooks scrambled eggs on an authentic Benihana table). The poster translates as "North Korea"

- Dr. Saperstein is very successful and stated he has a dry cleaning transitional holding company that's doing very well. When Tom was looking for new business ventures, Ben tried to convince him to open this type of business.
Moving Up: Part 2

- The song played by Jeff Tweedy (as reunited band Land Hoe) at the Unity Concert is actually a song of his real band Wilco. The name of the song is Pickeled Ginger.
- Mad Men star Jon Hamm had an uncredited cameo appearance as Ed.
- The producers say that the show got the band Letters to Cleo to play the event because Mark Rivers (show music supervisor and the drummer in Mouse Rat) was a real life member of the band Letters to Cleo. This is the band shirt that Ben wears like 20 times throughout the show.
- Andy Dwyer mentions in the finale to bring back Power Rangers. Power Rangers got a reboot in 2017.
- One of the bands at the Unity Concert is Bobby Knightranger, a Night Ranger cover band whose members are dressed as Indiana basketball coaching legend Bobby Knight. In the original pilot episode for the show, Ron had a poster of Knight in his office, but it had to be removed for legal reasons.
