This allows him to share the senses of his comrades, making them a much more efficient fighting force that's able to truly move as "one." This concept was originally introduced in the 2008 KONAMI video game "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. River's amygdala (part of the brain) was damaged by experiments, and Bennett says "I'd love to get a look at your [Caroline's] amygdala."
- Topher and Ivy are programming the actives back to their original personalities in one scene. The active in the chair is Gary, played by Rick Fox who is in a relationship with the top billed actress on the show, Eliza Dushku.
- Clyde says the name Rossum is from a play and "Although technically you're not robots, it seemed to fit." In the 1920s Czechoslovakian play R. U. R. there are manufactured people, but those 'roboti' are biological constructs physically indistinguishable from humans. By the end of the play these biological slaves have developed into real people capable of free will, independent thought, and love. They ultimately replace the human race. This fits exactly.
