In How I Met Your Mother: Jenkins (2010), her character saying that phrase was the subject of a drinking game. Also, her client is given a false phone number by a girl at a bar. In How I Met Your Mother: How I Met Everyone Else (2007), one of the other characters when first introduced got a fake phone number from a girl at a bar.

The story was dramatized in the film Hachi-ko (1987), and it was followed by an American adaptation, Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009), starring Richard Gere, and Joan Allen.

But if you look closely you'll notice that Miles takes the bottle from Dex as he hands her the ball. You can see the bottle in his hand as Dex approaches the line.

November Surprise

  1. Unlike many shows set in high school, this episode uses age appropriate actors. Abby Donnelly, who plays Jennifer, is 17; Peyton Elizabeth Lee, who plays Alyssa, is 15.
  2. Camryn Manheim (Lieutenant Cosgrove) & Carole Gutierrez (Deputy Principal Stella Markham) were both in the same episode of Harry's Law.
