  1. The music accompanying the end of D'anna Biers documentary video on the Galactica, which starts with a janitor whistling the tune and ends in a triumphant fanfare, is the theme song from the original "Battlestar Galactica" (1978). It was last heard during a Viper air show ceremony in the new series' pilot miniseries; within the new series' storyline, the old theme song is the national anthem of sorts for the Colonials.

  2. The story for episode #2.10 "Pegasus" is loosely based on the Original Series episode "The Living Legend" which also features the Galactica discovering the Pegasus.
  3. Opening credits say there are 49,605 human survivors.

Downloaded

S02E18 Episode aired 24 February 2006
  1. The cars in the basement are all European classic models. Among them is a Citroën DS. This was done to create a slightly less familiar look of Caprica toward US viewers (but will look more familiar to European viewers).
  2. Ronald D. Moore told in the podcast commentary for "Downloaded" that they had started to develop an episode called "The Raid", where the humans infiltrated into a Cylon space station where a conference about how to solve the human problem was taking place. The Colonials had to get more information about the Earth. Caprica Six, who started having visions about Gaius Baltar, discovered them but finally let them go. This idea was dropped, but Ron Moore wanted to show the Cylon point of view and it was finally shown in "Downloaded". The return of Caprica Six, who died in the miniseries, and she having visions about Gaius was also kept from "The Raid".
  3. For the first time in the show, D'anna refers to the Number 6 copy who infiltrated into Caprica to disable the Colonies' defenses as "Caprica Six".
  4. D'anna (the character who is played by Lucy Lawless) reveals her model is Number 3, Sharon's is Number 8, and Doral's is Number 5.
  5. "Downloaded" features the Cylon point of view of the show and shows an established society in the planet of Caprica. However, the staff didn't want to reveal yet the identity of the remaining Cylon models, so they decided to focus just on three characters: D'anna Biers (Lucy Lawless), Sharon Valerii (Grace Park) and Caprica Six (Tricia Helfer). The presence of Aarol Doral (Matthew Bennett) is very limited, and despite seeing what presumably are some copies of Simon, the actor who usually plays him, Rick Worthy, didn't actually appear in the episode and they used a double actor instead.
  6. Opening credits say there are 49,579 human survivors.
  7. The other car in the underground garage is a Tatra 87, produced by the Czechoslovakian car company Tatra between 1936 - 1950. One of the breakthrough cars of its era due to its aerodynamic (steamlined) bodywork.
  8. Despite Sharon the Cylon agent giving birth, the number of survivors written on the board of Colonial One is the same: 49.579.
  9. Caprica Six killing D'anna with a rock is considered the first act of violence "Cylon versus Cylon" in history. Later in the show she'll be scolded for it.

Lay Down Your Burdens: Part 1

S02E19 Episode aired 3 March 2006
  1. Opening credits say there are 49,579 human survivors.
  2. When Cavill is counseling the Chief we don't know until nearly the end of the show how much he is manipulating him. When he tells the Chief "Of course you're not a cylon" and the Chief asks, "How do you know?" He says, "Maybe because I'm a cylon and I've never seen you at any of the meetings." This is ultimately all a lie. Because Cavill is really a cylon and is the only one of the 7 that knows the Chief actually is a cylon as well (one of the final 5) and is keeping it as a closely guarded secret. At the end it truly shows how deeply manipulative Cavill really was.

  3. The Cylon occupation of New Caprica is inspired by the Nazi occupation of Paris in World War II.
