- Jenna Fischer is pregnant in real life during season 8, and this is incorporated into her character Pam's life during this episode.
- On the right side (losers) of the list instead of Creed it says Old Man
- Catherine Tate was originally going to be revealed to be the new Office Manager in the Season 8 premiere, but Tate's obligations with a major British touring production made this impossible. Her Nellie Bertram character was introduced later in the year as a Corporate executive who eventually made her way to the Scranton office for the closing stretch of the 8th season and all of the 9th and final season of the series.

- According to the NBC website where you can meet the new warehouse guys, the blue muscle shirt that the bodybuilder from Oscar's gym is wearing says: "My balls have biceps and my biceps have balls."
- Darryl's excuse for not having hired any new warehouse guys was "Four Hour Work Week." This is a reference to the book "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich" by Timothy Ferriss.
Garden Party

- Towards the end of the garden party, Pam, seeing Dwight and his catering employees with torches doing sort of tribal ritual, asks Jim "what are they doing?" Jim says "closing ceremonies." "Nice touch," Pam says. Closing ceremonies are important to Pam and Jim and the conversation in this episode closely mirrors an interaction they had in Season 2, Episode 3 "Office Olympics."
Spooked

- Gabe is playing 1962 classic "mondo cane" shockumentary at the newer scarier party
- Kevin says that he is afraid of real things, like serial killers and kidnappers. Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) played a serial killer on an episode of Criminal Minds.
- Angela is wearing the same cat costume she wore in the series' first Halloween episode, The Office: Halloween (2005).
Doomsday
S08E06 Episode aired 3 November 2011
- The epilogue scene of Jon Krasinski getting injured playing squash with James Spader was non-scripted.
- In the ending scene, additional footage of Jim and Robert California is shown of them playing squash and there is a shot of the ball rebounding and hitting Jim in the crotch. This actually accidently happened during filming and is hidden by a quick cut away and subsequent reaction inserts.
- Pam said that since Andy has been manager for 105 days, she has heard "Closing Time" 105 times at the end of the day. However, in Season 8, Episode 1, that song never played because everybody was saying goodbye to Andy at the entrance to the manager's office to end the day.
Pam's Replacement
S08E07 Episode aired 10 November 2011
- The local sportscaster that plays drums is Steve Moore of the band Rick K. and the Allnighters, from the viral YouTube video "This Drummer Is at the Wrong Gig." At the end of episode he performs moves similar to the ones in the video.
- The guitarist who joins Robert California is Linda Taylor, the same guitarist who performs in ABC's "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
- In the cold open, Andy has Erin pretend he has an important phone call while he is in a meeting with a client. Michael did the same thing in the season 4 episode "The Deposition" when he is talking to Ryan in his office. He has Pam give him a post-it note that says he has a very important client on the line, which isn't true. Just like the plan backfires on Andy, it also backfires on Michael, as Ryan insists that Michael take the important call.
Gettysburg

- The pictures of the "dandies" at Schrute Farms were actual civil war pictures.
- Darryl asks a ranger about the significance of the peach orchard. Dwight interrupts before the ranger can answer, but the orchard provides access to various memorials regarding the momentous attacks and counterattacks in the orchard on the afternoon of July 2, 1863.
- The northernmost battle of the Civil War was fought in St. Albans, Vermont, on October 19, 1864. A group of 22 Confederate soldiers, led by Lt. Bennet H. Young, crossed from Canada into St. Albans, shot up the town, and robbed three banks of more than $200,000. They attempted to burn the village, but townspeople prevented this destruction. Eleven members of the group escaped back into Canada where they were arrested and later released. On a grander scale, the Battle of Gettysburg was the northernmost major engagement.
- While on the bus the group claims they want to watch "Limitless" Which stars Bradley Cooper. Andy says that if they were going to visit the birthplace of Bradley Cooper they could watch it. Helms appears in The Hangover with Cooper

- Pam does not feature in this story line because 'Jenna Fischer' was out on maternity leave to have her child with her husband, Lee Kirk.
- In this episode, Erin mentions she watched a film where Meryl Streep had two secretaries. This, obviously, is the film The Devil Wears Prada, which starred Emily Blunt as one of the secretaries. Blunt is the real life wife of John Krasinski, who plays Jim.

- On the shelf behind Gabe's desk in Tallahassee, in a glass display case, is an Army Achievement Medal - the same type of medal that Robert California tried to give Dwight. Obviously, Robert offered Gabe the same medal at some time in the past, and he accepted it.
- Behind Gabe at his Tallahassee 'office' is a Florida State University hat. FSU is a major University in Tallahassee.

Last Day in Florida

- The office lists the items that are believed to be in Dwight's treasure box as: Schrute Bones, Star Wars Stuff, Nudie Mags, Rosebud-Type Scenario, Photo with our toothbrushes up his butt, Actual Gold, and a Trap.
- Darryl divides the office into "sales, the annex, and Creed" and "accounting." Of the people that are currently at the office and not in Florida, this leaves Meredith out.
- Dwight says that Jim looks like the world's tallest hobbit. This is a reference to the fact that Jim plays the US version of Tim, from the original version of the office played by Martin Freeman. Martin Freeman played Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit movies.
Get the Girl

- When Erin is doing the short interview in Florida, she is apparently in front of a green screen. She is really in there when she's picking up the paper, but if you watch closely, in the following scene, she doesn't naturally fit in the background, lighting in her face is softer, whereas in the real place it's natural sunlight.
- Nellie makes a comment that she was not in town to see the Harry Houdini museum. This seems like a random joke at first, but we later find out she has had a terrible past with magicians and dislikes them.
- The playbill for Sweeney Todd can be seen displayed in Andy's office when Nellie and Robert are discussing the manager's position in Andy's office.

- Andy (Ed Helms) and Erin (Ellie Kemper) are wearing Savannah, Georgia souvenir shirts on the car ride from Florida to Pennsylvania. Ed Helms is from Savannah and directed this episode.
- The Drake featuring Swizz Beatz song Pam is listening to at the beginning of the episode is Fancy
- Dana Powell, who plays the friend Megan at the bachelorette party, has also played a recurring character named Pam on Modern Family.
Angry Andy

- Phyllis says the same twelve cliches every time it rains. According to Jim's list, they are: The plants are going to love this.I sure don't want to get stuck in this on the way home.It's raining cats and dogs.The humidity is going to make my hair freak.The roads are slickest in the first half hour.I actually sleep better in the rain.We're paying for all the sun we got this year.This weather just makes me want to stay at home, curled up with a good book.If we lived in Seattle, every day would be like this.I wish I were allowed one rain check a year.I love the smell after it rains. *Nobody knows how to drive in the rain.
- Dwight says Captain Mutato is half man half mermaid. Rainn Wilson's character "Bill Hudley" in the movie House of 1000 Corpses was made into a half man half mermaid.
- This is the second time Andy punches a hole in the wall.

- During the cold open when Ryan is freaking out about the death of Smokey Robinson, Jim agrees by saying, "I second that emotion," to emphasize the fact that Ryan doesn't really know Smokey's music. "I Second That Emotion" is a 1967 song written and performed by Smokey Robinson.
- Despite Nellie being the official regional manager for the Scranton Branch at this point, she does not appear at the manager's office at the end scene of the opening credits.
- One of the dogs Andy ends up adopting was also on Parks and Recreation as the dog Champion.

- The kiss between Robert California and Andrew Bernard was improvised by actor James Spader.
- Andy's ringtone is still the same as it was when his phone went off during his performance in episode 7.3, Andy's Play.
- When Dwight first takes off in his car, one headlight is stuck in the up position. When he gets closer to the decoy car, both headlights are in the down position.
- When Dwight steals one of baby Phillip's diapers from the trash to get it a paternity test, the hospital returns a negative. Because Angela reveals later that Dwight is, in fact, the father, the diaper Dwight steals from the trash must have been the other baby Phillip in the office for free pictures belonging to Jim and Pam.
