- This episode showed the most amount of people ever, six, that were being interviewed privately in the conference room.
- At 19:20, Kevin can be heard still asking, "What does a bean mean!?"
- The check that Kevin writes to Pam does not have a date written on it.
Niagara: Part 1
S06E04 Episode aired 8 October 2009
- John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer made a surprise trip to the Niagara Falls area with a small crew in order to film the scene with their actual wedding vows, and Krasinski was feeling ill during the filming but insisted they do multiple takes even as he was getting soaked with water.
- In the scene where Jim and Pam are on the boat going down stream from Niagara Falls, Pam leans her head onto Jim. This is reference to the season 1 episode The Office: Diversity Day (2005) where Pam does the same thing before they get together.
- Toby is the only one from the office that is not in the dance going down the aisle.
- The names on the board for Jim and Pam's rehearsal dinner read Beesly and Halpret instead of Beesley and Halpert.
- The dance sequence during the wedding was choreographed by the same person who worked on "Cafe Disco" with all of the dancing pairs having 45-minute practice sessions to get their moves down.
- The episode was initially assigned for Mindy Kaling to write, but executive producer Greg Daniels said he was interested in contributing.
- Brian Baumgartner's parents were on the Maid Of The Mist boat where the marriage scene was filmed. They were visiting friends from Rochester, NY, and came into town to be extras.
- In the original draft, the wedding was supposed to take place on the Booze Cruise.
- The scene in which Jim cuts his tie took seven takes and was written by Greg Daniels.
Niagara: Part 2
S06E05 Episode aired 8 October 2009
Mafia
S06E06 Episode aired 15 October 2009
- It says "Erin ruins Pam's painting" but it never happens in this episode. In later episodes, you see that the painting is switched with an inspirational photo for awhile. No explanation.
- Gaba-gool is a reference to "The Sopranos," as "Gaba-gool" is Tony Sopranos' favorite snack.
- The show references "The Sopranos" as the Mob member is suspected of being in Waste Management, as Tony Soprano is.
- At around 7:20, Andy tells Michael that he will get "a dead horses chopped-off head" put in his bed, in response to calling the police on Mr. Grotti, the presumed Mafioso. This, of course, is a reference to "The Godfather," a movie in which the director, Francis Ford Coppola actually used a real, dead horses chopped-off head for a famous bed scene.
- In the beginning of the episode, Michael is giving a speech on "the fundamentals of business", and is stressing the word "mental". Mike Starr, who plays the Italian insurance salesman in this episode, played a character named Mental in "Dumb and Dumber" (1994).
The Lover
S06E07 Episode aired 22 October 2009
- Above Kelly's table there is a table stating "Ending Quarterly Sales / HR.Performance. Andrew has the highest score (128,500), following by Jim (126,720), Dwight (119,820), Phyllis (117,615), Stanley (117,424), Michael (96,720) and Creed (89,113). It is unsure why Pam's name is not on board and why Creed's is.
Koi Pond
S06E08 Episode aired 29 October 2009
- This is the first episode that reveals Erin to be a foster child, although subtly. During the conference room meeting discussing what is off limits for being made fun of, Erin's request to not be made fun of for being an orphan appears on the board. In the aired version, Erin does not appear in the meeting, nor is her request included. Rather, it appears on the board while Michael is writing Kevin's request to not be made fun of for his weight.
- The episode's official photos show characters in Halloween costumes, but there is nothing remotely relating to Halloween at all in accessible copies of the episode. In the original airing of the episode, the cold open was something like a Halloween party in the warehouse. Michael pretends to commit suicide. Apparently, viewers were so extremely offended by the context that the opening was then removed from all reruns and DVD copies as well as digital streaming sources like Netflix.
- The famous painting of Dunder Mifflin Exterior building which hangs outside of Michael's office (made by Pam) is replaced in this episode by a picture of a golf park and guy stuck in the sand pit and quote (Failure is always an option).
- When the staff is making fun of Michael for falling into the koi pond, the background on Pam's (Jim's old) computer is an aquarium, further making fun of Michael.
- Dwight says Jim "looks like Popeye's wife." In s7 e6, Jim dresses up as Popeye and Pam dresses up as Popeye's wife - Olive Oil.
Double Date
S06E09 Episode aired 5 November 2009
- When Michael wrongly adds up the math for Helene's age, he states that she is 54 years old, to which she replies that she is 58. Actress Linda Purl was indeed 54 at the time of filming.
- In this and the following episode, instead of Pam's painting of the office building on the wall there is a "demotivational" poster of a golf course reading "Failure is always an option".
Murder
S06E10 Episode aired 12 November 2009
- Chun later explained in a Q&A with The Office fansite OfficeTally that "the episode was partly about Jim realizing that sometimes Michael isn't crazy, he's crazy like a fox" in that sometimes his underlying motives are clever.
- Chun crafted the cold open after being inspired by the second season episode "The Fight" because he wanted to see more "Karate Dwight". In the original version of the open, the script featured Dwight and Michael kicking each other in the groin. Jennifer Celotta, however, suggested that Dwight should fight himself.
- Andy (Ed Helms) explains the difference between a southern-panhandle accent and a Savannah accent to his office mates. Ed Helms is the perfect actor to explain this difference as he hails from Savannah, Georgia.
- According to series creator and episode director Greg Daniels, the episode explores the idea that Michael is positively motivated due to his subconscious; although his antics seem nonsensical to many members of the office, in the end, his idea to take his coworkers' minds off of the fiscal trouble proves to be the best choice. This was first explored in the third season episode "Grief Counseling".
- Initially, after Michael announces that "there has been a murder", the show was supposed to have cut to a commercial break. However, the producers realized that this was too misleading, as it would have implied that a real homicide had taken place.
- Andy Buckley, who plays David Wallace, recorded his lines in the annex of the set, to give the illusion that he was calling from a long ways away.
- All of the props, cards, and box were designed by the series' prop department.
- Several of the scenes, such as when Andy first asks Erin on a date, had to be re-shot so that the cameras were in more discreet places. Daniels later referred to these shots as "spy shots".
- The producers tried to market the role playing game as a real product, although that never came to fruition.
- Greg Daniels particularly enjoyed directing both the cold open and the closing tag, likening both to "an action film". In regards to the latter, he referred to it as a sequence that director Quentin Tarantino would have thought up, and noted the importance of having the camera appear in the middle of the Mexican standoff to reveal Fischer. Wilson, Helms, and Carell enjoyed filming the scene, and were particularly exuberant when it came time to fake-kill each other.
- Most of the names from the role-playing game were based on "Southern puns", and it took Chun a while to think of all the names.
- Michael mentions having a vasectomy meaning he can never have kids. Michael mentions that he wants children in many episodes. In an earlier season episode, Jan and Michael argue about how Michael has had a vasectomy, then had it reversed.
Shareholder Meeting
S06E11 Episode aired 19 November 2009
- New York outdoor scenes for the episode were filmed in California. Two taxi cabs along with Michael's limo, using New York plates, were shot in front of a California intersection with a Roman Revival style building in the background for a New York effect. The building has both a California state flag and US flag hanging over its entrance.
- At the end of the episode, when Dwight is complaining about the line, you can briefly see a member of the Dunder Mifflin Buffalo branch from S5E26, Company Picnic.
- Pam said to Jim "I can't really imagine you yelling at anyone" but just the episode before, Jim yells at Michael while they were playing the murder mystery game in the conference room.
Scott's Tots
S06E12 Episode aired 3 December 2009
- Due to rushed filming of the episode, the scene of Michael and Erin driving home from the school was not filmed in HD. It appears in televised, DVD, and online versions as a letterbox 4:3 aspect ratio.
- The "Mr. Scott" rap that the Scott's Tots performed was to the tunes of Bad Boys. This parody is most likely the influence of Michael, who does quite a bit of song parodies.
- When Andy repeats "number 9", when looking for the person whose number corresponds with the number, it is a Beatles reference of the song Revolution 9.
- In this episode Dwight comes up with the idea of having 'An Employee of the Month' But this wasn't a new idea, as can be seen in season 1 episode 3: Health Care, where you can clearly see a sign on the outside of Michael's office, with a list of 'Employees of the Month'
Secret Santa
S06E13 Episode aired 10 December 2009
- If you look closely at Erin's desk you can see the Christmas card Michael made in "Benihana Chrismas" where he put his face over Carol's husband's face in a picture with her and her kids.
- While Kevin is on Michael's lap, the camera cuts Kelly out of the frame because you can see her begin to laugh.
- After Kevin gets off of Michael's lap and is trying to get feeling back into his leg, you can see Andy laughing in the background trying to hide it by hiding behind the corner.
- Dwight's list of possibilities for what his Secret Santa gift is: aardvark trap, beaver trap, gun, possum trap, skunk trap, lobster trap, man trap, lathe, Abdominizer, speculum.
- Michael tells Dwight his PIN number is "it's fun to stay at the.." which is a lyric from the song YMCA by the Village People. Meaning that his pin is in fact "YMCA" which corresponds to "9622"
The Banker
S06E14 Episode aired 21 January 2010
- During the flashbacks of past episodes, a clip of the hot dog eating contest from the episode "Beach Games" is shown. Michael suggests dipping the hot dogs in the water "so it will slide down your gullet more easily", which a small majority of the group replies "that's what she said." This clip was not a part of the original episode, but an outtake.
- Steve Carell's hair is a bit shorter because he had it cut for his Dinner For Schmucks (2010) character.
- Even though this is a compilation of flashbacks from previous episodes, this is the lowest rated episode out of the entire series.
- Clips from 44 individual episodes were used to create more than 50 flashback scenes.
Sabre
S06E15 Episode aired 4 February 2010
- Ed Helms was included for the first time on the opening credits. He would be the first actor since the beginning of the show and after 6 seasons to be included on the opening credits. Until then, only Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer and B.J. Novak appeared on the intro.
- Owen Daniels, Greg Daniels' son, reprises his role as David Wallace's son Teddy in this episode.

St. Patrick's Day
S06E19 Episode aired 11 March 2010
- The "quad-desk" at the ending does not allow normal seats to be at the top. To circumvent that, Jim sits at the top of a ladder. You can see the ladder when the camera zooms in on Dwight's ringing phone.
- The warehouse guy who stands to the left of Darryl when he's talking about his ideas has a name tag that clearly reads "Glenn" but is credited as "Calvin".
- Dwight and Andy are singing the song "Cat's In The Cradle" in this episode.

The Cover-Up

- The ending credits open with "In Memory of Larry Einhorn"; Larry Einhorn was recently deceased father of Randall Einhorn who has directed several episodes of the series.
The Chump
S06E25 Episode aired 13 May 2010
- When Andy is chastising Michael for sleeping with a married woman, he alluded to Obsessed (2009) by saying "You're Ali Larter, I'm Beyoncé." Idris Elba, who played Charles Minor in several episodes of The Office in Season 5, was the lead character in Obsessed (2009).
- Pam reads the two flavors of ice cream that Erin bought for Michael. They are Despera-Dough and Witchy-Womanilla. Erin explains that the names are due to the fact that "The Eagles are doing a theme of ice creams in honor of turning 60". Whether intentional or coincidental, both the song Desperado and the song Witchy Woman, are featured on a single episode of Seinfeld called "The Checks" (Season 8, Episode 7).
Whistleblower
S06E26 Episode aired 20 May 2010
- Whenever Toby was called in for questioning by Jo, they discussed the mystery novel that Toby was working on. Jo then gave him advice on how to improve the mystery in his story. This is a slight nod to the major Kathy Bates role in Misery, a story where she plays an obsessed fan of a novelist and keeps him hostage while advising him on how to improve his novel.
- The location of the office is on Slough Avenue. Slough is the location of the UK version of the office
- Jo and Michael travel to Castle & Cook Aviation to have a meeting on Jo's jet. Castle & Cook is a real FBO located at the Van Nuys airport.
- There are several Godfather allusions in this episode. It's about someone leaking vital information outside the company, like someone betraying the Corleone mafia family as happens in the second Godfather. Dwight says at least two lines from that series, "I'm not dumb. I'm smart." and "Make 'em an offer they can't refuse."
