Extreme Prejudice

S10E01 Episode aired 25 September 2012
  1. This is the first episode where Brian Dietzen (Jimmy Palmer) is part of the regular cast main credits intro. He previously was part of the main cast from season 6 on as " also starring" after the regular cast main credits intro instead of "guest or special guest starring ".
  2. After 5 seasons of working under Director Leon Vance, this is the first time where he visits Gibbs in his basement.
  3. Plot hole: how did Harper Dearing know there would be a window in the FBI agent's bathroom so he could escape? Surely she didn't point it out to him from outside and he'd obviously never been there before since she just 'picked him up' off the street.

Recovery

S10E02 Episode aired 2 October 2012
  1. The character of Dr. Miles Wolf was written because Wendy Makkena was unable to reprise her role of Dr. Rachel Cranston as she was busy filming The Mob Doctor (2012).
  2. It has incorrectly been said that Tyler Ritter has replaced Daniel Louis Rivas as Abby's brother. Daniel plays Abby's brother, Kyle, who she only just discovered after finding out she was adopted. Tyler will be playing Luca, her adoptive brother.
  3. When Ziva lays out the three pistol photos it included a picture of a Colts woodsman which was never made in a .32 cal.
  4. This episode of NCIS "reunites" Sean Murray (Agent Timothy McGee; regular cast member) with guest-star Larry Bagby. Both men appeared in 1993's cult classic Hocus Pocus (1993) - though not sharing any scenes.

  1. Alex Kingston plays the love interest of the eleventh Doctor on Doctor Who (2005). So when Dinozzo asks about her lover's name and she coyly sidesteps him and keeps it a secret, Doctor who fans can smile, since she is the only person who knows the Doctor's true name.
  2. Every time Alex Kingston says the word "pond," her loyal fans may be amused. Perhaps that references back to her character on Doctor Who (2005), River Song. "Pond" is greatly significant.
  3. References to "pond" in relation to Alex Kingston's character Miranda Pennebaker (if intentional) are most likely nudges to her character Miranda Pond in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999).

  1. At the beginning of the episode Ziva picks up the dress she wore in "Under Covers" (3.8), Tony wears the disguise from "Driven" (4.11) when he was working secretly for Jenny which is why Ziva and McGee did not recognise it.
  2. When Agent David yells "Ben kelev", that is roughly translated to "son of a bitch".

Hit and Run

  1. Michael McGrady, Walter Dunn, appeared in the show Reasonable Doubts (1991), another Mark Harmon show.
  2. Michael McGrady, playing Walter Dunn, played a completely different character on the [link=tt0112022, from which NCIS (2003) is spun off of. He played Lt. Cmdr. Jack Keeter.

Canary

S10E14 Episode aired 5 February 2013
  1. Gibbs rule 39a: There is no such thing as a small world.
  2. Tony states music pretty much died around 1977- the year Elvis Presley died.
  3. Ducky uses the statement 'speakin of the devil' went NCIS Director Craig, Greg Germann will later go on to play Hades the god of the underworld in Once Upon a Time (2011).

  1. The character of "Cameron Dean" in NCIS: Prime Suspect (2013) is most likely named after actor Dean Cameron, who appeared with Mark Harmon in the 1987 comedy movie Summer School (1987).
  2. The main plot of this episode, in which a journalist becomes a copycat serial killer years after becoming famous for covering the original killer in order to get his career going again, is an exact copy of a 2005 episode of Red Panda Adventures (2005) called "Death Danced at Midnight."

  1. Gibbs wears a small patch on his combat vest that reads 'NKA'. This simply indicates that he has No Known Allergies.
  2. Oded Fehr has also played a Mossad operative on The Blacklist (2013) and Covert Affairs (2010).
  3. The English nanny that Vance is interviewing carries an umbrella like Mary Poppins and is named Maria, like the heroine of "The Sound of Music". Both were played by Julie Andrews.
  4. During one scene, Tony references Aladdin. Later on, Ziva is looking at security footage of Ilan Bodnar. Ilan is played by Oded Fehr, who has played Jafar, the villain from Aladdin, in Once Upon a Time (2011).

    1. John M. Jackson plays the role of Admiral AJ Chegwidden in this episode, reprising his role in JAG (1995), from which NCIS (2003) was spun off.
    2. Both characters, Leroy Jethro Gibbs and A. J. Chegwidden, middle name is Jethro. A. J. stands for Albert Jethro.
    3. The scene where Chegwidden, played by John M. Jackson, shares info about Parsons, played by Colin Hanks, is a nod to the movie Philadelphia (1993) in which Colin Hanks' father (none other than Tom Hanks) played the lawyer who is HIV-positive and is discriminated against by his own law firm.
    4. Final appearance of Cote de Pablo playing Ziva David as an NCIS Agent. The actress would do a voice-only appearance as a civilian in the Season 11 opener NCIS: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2013), then one final appearance in NCIS: Past, Present, and Future (2013). The actress had declined to renew her contract at the end of Season 10. The character would eventually be killed off three seasons later in NCIS: Family First (2016).
