- The NCIS agent soundly beaten at checkers by Angela Kelp was played by Ray Mabus, who as of February 2011 is the U.S. Secretary of the Navy. Actually Ray Mabus was sworn in as SecNav on May 19. 2009. Since that was prior to the airing of this episode (Nov. 24, 2009), it adds even more humor to Ray's telling Gibbs, "This kids a ringer. Watch her" when he was the true ringer. It ranks right up with Gibbs answering Kate's question of 'what Ducky looked like when he was younger' with "Illya Kuryakin".

- The music right at the end as Tony and Ziva settle down to watch "The Black Pirate" will be hauntingly familiar to many viewers. It is by Edvard Grieg, the first movement of his Holberg Suite, Op. 40.
Guilty Pleasure
