The One with the Jellyfish
S04E01 Episode aired 25 September 1997
- Although this episode follows the previous episode within the same weekend Matthew Perry has a different hair cut due to the summer hiatus between both episodes.
- Lisa Kudrow and guest stars of this episode, Christine Taylor and Teri Garr, appear together on the movie Kabluey.
- Previously, Matt LeBlanc has just done the voiceover work during the "Previously..." two part episode recaps. As he is now in vision in character as Joey for this episode recap, it could now be considered plausible that every "The one with..." is a dramatisation of Joey recounting a situation episode.
- Guest star Teri Garr's hairstyle is significantly different from the previous episode, even though it's the same weekend the episodes take place.
- In the re-mastered Widescreen version of this episode, broadcast by Comedy Central UK in 2015, there is a very obvious drop in picture quality during the beach jellyfish scene, and the split screen shots between Phoebe and her sister Ursula. This is most likely due to it being either shot on 24 frame video, and/or master elements are missing.

- The Magna-Doodle board on the door of Joey's apartment reads: "Thanks for all your stuff".

The three Warners, Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, (Warner Brothers Dot) were three cartoon stars from the 1930s that were locked away in the Warner Bros. water tower until the 1990s, when they escaped. The series was renowned for having an adult fanbase profile similar to the "Friends" fans, partly as "Animaniacs" made fun of celebrities, major motion pictures, and television shows for adults including Friends, among others.
- The first episode where "the chick" is not little and yellow.
The One with the 'Cuffs
S04E03 Episode aired 9 October 1997

The producers liked this incident and decided to keep it in the show.

- The transition scene when we see where Phoebe works has the telephone number 212-486-1122 is a real number and is actually the number for the Healing Hands massage shop on Lexington Ave.
- E. J. Callahan, the massage client who walks into the room with Phoebe's boss as she's starting to make out with Rick on her massage table, is the same actor who plays Al Zebooker, the guy who eats paper, in "The One Where Estelle Dies" (season 10, episode 14).

- Although Lisa Kudrow was really pregnant, she was still wearing padding when the episode was filmed to make her seem larger.
- Lisa Kudrow was pregnant in real life during the filming of this episode, and was therefore not able to travel to London; therefore the writers had to find a way to keep her involved in the story while still in Monica's apartment.

- Although the bulk of the 2 part episode was actually shot in the Fountain Studios, in Wembley, London, it wasn't as well received in the UK as in the USA. Many British viewers regarded the episode as an ill-informed and patronising caricature of the UK and its people, causing the episode to be unofficially labelled "The One Where They Insult the English". Ironically, the UK terrestrial TV channel "Channel Four" which had first-run terrestrial broadcast rights, had proposed a UK based episode to Warner Bros. TV.
- June Whitfield, who plays The Housekeeper in this episode and Jennifer Saunders who plays Andrea Waltham were both a part of the show Absolutely Fabulous (1992). On the show they played mother and daughter, although in this episode they do not appear in the same scene.

- The man selling British flags and umbrellas is Sir Richard Branson, owner of Virgin Group.
- When Phoebe calls Mrs. Waltham on the phone and tells her she couldn't come to the wedding because she was pregnant with her brother's babies, Mrs. Waltham asks if she is on the radio. This is a reference to the practice in the UK where radio stations would place prank phone calls to people and then play their confused responses from the victims over the air.
- This episode marks the beginning of Chandler and Monica's romantic relationship. The pair would go on to get married in the Season 7 finale.
