- The title is from the London West End play "No Sex Please, We're British" written by Alistair Foot and Anthony Marriott in 1971. Though it was dismissed by the critics, it still ran for almost ten years.
A Man, a Plan and a Gal: Julia

- At the beginning of the episode when Frasier and Niles are speaking in the coffee shop, Kelsey Grammer stumbles on his words. He does, in fact, say "Flasier," but the two actors improvised so well (and it was the end of the scene) that the take remained.
- The title is based on a famous palindrome: A man, a plan, a canal, Panama! (Read it backwards!)
The Doctor Is Out

- Both Patrick Stewart and Kelsey Grammer were both Starship Captains on Star Trek: The Next Generation: Cause and Effect (1992).
- Patrick Stewart starred as Professor Xavier and Kelsey Grammer starred as Beast in a X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
- At one point, they think Roz's new boyfriend is homosexual and goes into a gay bar. An in joke is that it's been long suspected Gil Chesterson has been gay, and is shown entering the bar at the end when the credits roll.

Maris Returns

- Guest star Dan Castellaneta is best known for voicing Homer Simpson. Kelsey Grammer's other recurring role on television is also on The Simpsons, on which he plays Sideshow Bob. As a joke reference to this series, Sideshow Bob also has a brother voiced by David Hyde Pierce and a father voiced by John Mahoney.
- Valerie Mahaffey, who plays Frasier's temp, played David Hyde Pierce's screen wife in the series The Powers That Be (1992).
Murder Most Maris

- The painting that Maris is helping to re-enact, "Martyrdom of St. Ursula by Attila the Hun" that Niles mentions is an actual mural by Johan Schmitt (1825-1898), painted from 1868-72. It is one of several murals commissioned by the Ursuline Convent in Louisville, Kentucky. The description Niles gives of the painting is indeed accurate.
- The title is based upon the movie Murder Most Foul (1964), based on novels by Agatha Christie.
- David Hyde Pierce has a discernible limp in this episode.

- The Hallmark Channel omits this episode from its rotation of reruns, presumably because of the marijuana storyline.
- For a show that generally did well of making everything about it timeless, this episode contains one of the series' most glaring dated references - when Frasier objects to Roz's pot brownie because it's illegal. It no longer is in the state of Washington - matter of fact, snacks like the pot brownie can even be bought in specialized retail stores in Washington.
- The title refers to the High Holy Days of the Hebrew religious calendar of Rosh Hashanah, "Jewish New Year", and Yom Kippur, "Day of Atonement".

- The title is based on the play "The Man Who Came to Dinner" written by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman and opened on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre on October 16, 1939 and ran for 739 performances.

- The title refers to an exclamation that has subconscious meaning called a Freudian slip.
Caught in the Act

- Nanny G asks Frasier "Do you have any idea what its like to play the same character for 20 years?", a reference to the fact that Kelsey Grammer has played Frasier Crane for 20 years.
- The "prop room" where Nanny G attempts to bed Frasier is the set from Cheers (1982). They walk down the stairway that was used as the entrance to the bar.
- The scenes during Nanny G's show were not shot in front of a studio audience; they were played back on a TV monitor to get a laugh track. The audience laughed so hard that the volume had to be turned down to avoid drowning out the dialogue.
- Laurie Metcalf is the third actress to play Nanette/Nanny G. Emma Thompson portrayed Nanny G on _Cheers_ in 1992, while Dina Spybey-Waters played the character in the 2001 episode "Don Juan in Hell" part 2 of Frasier.
- John Mahoney (plays Marty Crane) and Laurie Metcalf (plays Nanny G) are both ensamble members of the Stepenwolf Theater Company in Chicago.

- Rosie Perez was the original choice for the role of Daphne until the character was changed from Latina to English.
- Frasier recoils in horror when his blind-date wants a wine spritzer. Twenty television seasons earlier, this was actually the first drink Frasier himself ordered at the bar in Cheers (1982).
- Near the end, the hairy pizza delivery guy is an almost unrecognizable Kenny, who later becomes the station manager.
- When playing their younger selves, the cast had to use various hairpieces, hair dyes etc. to resemble their younger selves in flashback sequences.
- Rosie Perez had been a guest caller in "Roz in the Doghouse", in the second season.

- In the pilot episode, Frasier and Martin have a fight over Frasier just wanting to hear "thank you" from Martin for allowing him to move in. Before John Mahoney (Martin) hugs Kelsey Grammer goodbye in the finale, his line is "Thank you, Frasier."
- The deliveryman (Cleto Augusto) who drops off Martin Crane's easy chair in the first episode is the same deliveryman who takes it away in the final episode. Aside from the regular cast, he is also the only person to appear in both episodes.
