1. Two of the guest stars in this episode are real-life relatives of one of the main cast members: Fred Savage (Stuart) is the older brother of Ben Savage (Cory Matthews) while Bonnie Bartlett (Lila Bolander) has been married to William Daniels (George Feeny) since June 30, 1951.
2. It is revealed in this episode that Eric's middle name is Randall. The character is named after actress Betsy Randle who plays Amy.
3. One of the only three times Fred and Ben Savage worked together. The other two times are Little Monsters (1988) and Fred Savage's show The Wonder Years (1988).
4. Fred Savage guest stars on his brother Ben Savage's show. Years earlier, Ben Savage guest starred on Fred Savage's show "The Wonder Years."

1. Shawn says he and Cory saw the movie "Babe 2: Pig In the City" The film was released 12 days after this episode originally aired.

We'll Have a Good Time Then

1. The title is a line from the 1974 folk-rock song "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1974, his only #1 hit song.
2. After filming this episode where Chet dies, Blake Clark called Michael Jacobs on the phone in tears to express his gratitude for the opportunity and how much he loved appearing on the show. Jacobs informed him that he would be returning for Boy Meets World: Road Trip (1999) as Clark thought this would be his final episode. He ended up making three more appearances as Chet's ghost in this series and one appearance in the Girl Meets World (2014) episode Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Hurricane (2015).
3. If one were to listen closely, the last words we see Chet say to Shawn before he dies are, "I'm sorry, Shawn."
4. One of two episodes to feature the death of a character. The other time a character died was in the season 4 episode Boy Meets World: Fishing for Virna (1996). Other episodes to feature character deaths are Boy Meets World: And Then There Was Shawn (1998) and Boy Meets World: The Psychotic Episode (1999), but both of those turned out to be dreams.

Getting Hitched

1. Shawn's trailer in this episode is not the same trailer used in earlier seasons.
2. When Feeny asks Rachel what Eric's favorite fish is, not only is Eric's answer intentionally stupid, but he also misspells the answer. He spells penguin like "pengwin."
3. In the episode, when Corey invites Topanga to his room to start the process of further strengthening their relationship, Corey buys silk pajamas, blankets, and sheets in efforts to arouse Topanga. When Topanga respectfully declines the invitation for intercourse, Corey becomes frustrated and falls onto the bed while he was still wearing the silk pajamas and the silk sheets were still attached and crashes into a tower of cans Shawn stacked earlier in the episode. You can see shortly afterwards actress Danielle Fischel (Topanga) is looking beyond the camera towards the studio audience and the crew trying not to break character. It's unclear if this was a scripted stunt by Corey Matthews, but some assume it is.

Road Trip

1. The four girls in the diner, Amy Sue, Stacey, Sarah, and Ali, are in a real band called "Nobody's Angel." They all go by their real names.
2. Mickey Jones who appears as Milkshake Guy (the man in the diner that explains Chicken Fried Steak to Cory) previously appeared as Ezekial, the mountain man who works at the Matthews' store, in Boy Meets World: Janitor Dad (1996) which was another episode that primarily dealt with Shawn and Chet's relationship.
3. This is the final episode in which Danielle Fishel does not appear. From this point on, Topanga appears in every episode until the finale Boy Meets World: Brave New World: Part 2 (2000),

My Baby Valentine

1. The Matthews' baby used in season six and later in season seven was the child of writer and producer of the show, Michael Jacobs.
2. Cory tells Topanga, "Well, you kissed the soap opera guy," and she corrects him that the guy was an artist. The actor who played the guy Topanga kissed was Jonathan Jackson, who was on a soap opera, General Hospital, as the character "Lucky."
3. Joshua Gabriel Matthews was born on February 14, 1999.
4. The title is derived from the song "My Funny Valentine" by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for the 1937 musical Babes in Arms.
5. This episode takes place from February 13 to February 14, 1999.

Resurrection

1. When Shawn says to Topanga, "Use a mirror, babe," he is quoting his line to her from the episode Cory's Alternative Friends from season one, in which she first put lipstick on her face. That was also Topanga's first appearance on Boy Meets World.

3. Michael Jacobs: Executive producer and co-creator Jacobs appears as the Jewish man praying in the hospital.

Can I Help to Cheer You?

1. Eric's story is centered on his "little brother" named Tommy. "Can I help to cheer you" was a line from the rock opera Tommy by The Who.
2. J.B. Gaynor would reprise his role as Tommy (now using the name T.J. Murphy) in Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Mr. Squirrels Goes to Washington (2015) 16 years later.

Bee True

1. In an interview with the Television Academy Foundation in 2017, Bonnie Bartlett (Dean Lila Bolander) recalled telling Michael Jacobs that she thought that this was the worst script that she had done since high school.
2. This was Sandra Gould's final acting role before her death on July 20, 1999 at the age of 82.
3. One aspect of this episode is that Jack, played by Matthew Lawrence, is embarrassed to take Rachel, played by Maitland Ward, out on a date because of their height difference. In real life, Lawrence is 5'8," and Ward is 5'10 1/2"

The Truth About Honesty

1. Eric (Will Friedle) tells his date, "I'm Batman." Friedle voiced Terry McGinnis/Batman in Batman Beyond (1999). On top of that, his date's name is Dana, which is also the name of his girlfriend on Batman Beyond.
2. One of the three episodes that were banned from Disney Channel.
3. This episode takes place in April 1999.

The Psychotic Episode

1. Although this episode aired on the Disney Channel, much of its content is heavily removed. The entire scene when Cory strangles Shawn is excluded.
2. In this episode, Cory dreams that he will kill all his friends. Shawn had a similar dream in the season 5 episode Boy Meets World: And Then There Was Shawn (1998).
3. This is the second time Feeny teaches Cory and Shawn Shakespeare.

State of the Unions

1. This episode features two real-life married couples playing married couples: William Daniels (George Feeny) and Bonnie Bartlett (Dean Lila Bolander) have been married since June 30, 1951, while Michael McKean (Jedediah Lawrence) and Annette O'Toole (Rhiannon Lawrence) have been married since March 20, 1999.
2. Micheal McKean is the second of three actors to portray Topanga's father after Peter Tork. He is later replaced by Mark Harelik.
3. When Eric and Shawn are talking in the student union, they don't pay for their sodas.
4. During Mr. Feeny & Dean Bolander's wedding ceremony, there is a close-up of Shawn and Angela on the staircase. A plastic lobster can be seen in the flower bouquet in the foreground. Didi Destefano (stage manager) admitted in an interview on Pod Meets World that she hid this throughout the sets in the last few seasons of the show.
5. Sabrina Carpenter who played Maya in the spinoff Girl Meets World (2014) was born just three days before this episode aired.
