Back 2 School

1. The comic that Mr. Turner takes from Cory, and assigns to the class, is Uncanny X-Men #316 (September 1994).
2. With this episode, George gets promoted from schoolteacher to principal.

Pairing Off

1. Cory mentions: Jerry and Shoshana (as in Jerry Seinfeld and girl friend Shoshana), Michael and Lisa Marie (as in Michael Jackson and then wife Lisa Marie Presley).
2. The only episode in the series to feature a scene inside Amy and Alan's bedroom.
3. The health class scene was heavily edited when the show went to syndication.
4. Cory asks Topanga if she will walk through life with him. Later in the series, they end up dating and eventually marry.

Notorious

1. This is the first episode since "Teacher's Bet" (#1.8) where Topanga (Danielle Fishel) does not appear.
2. In Season 2, there is a door where Harly, Joey, and Frankie hang out. Sometimes it says Boy's Bathroom. Sometimes it says GEORGE FEENY. And once, it says GEORGE WEENY. Then Feeny's office moves inside another office with "Private" on the door.

Me and Mr. Joad

1. Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) looks out the window and says, "Ah, St. Eligius." This was the name of the fictional hospital in St. Elsewhere (1982) in which Daniels played Dr. Mark Craig.
2. Jason jokes with Mrs. Mathews that she could have been on a show and included the made up " Baywatch - the Next Generation". Betsy Randle had previously appeared on Baywatch.

The Uninvited

1. First appearance of the local hang out, Chubbies.
2. Season 1 Episode 6 of Girl Meets World, Girl Meets Popular, pays homage to this episode of BMW. Riley Matthews (Cory's daughter) gets invited to her first 7th-grade party, like Cory, but her BFF Maya doesn't get an invitation, like Shawn.

Who's Afraid of Cory Wolf?

1. The title is based on the song from the Disney classic Three Little Pigs (1933), 'Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?' as well as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966)
2. Madame Ouspenskaya is named after Maria Ouspenskaya, who played the gypsy woman Maleva in The Wolf Man (1941) and Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943).
3. This episode takes place from October 30 to October 31, 1994.
4. Like Dinosaurs: Little Boy Boo (1992), this is a parody of The Wolf Man (1941). Both Dinosaurs (1991) and Boy Meets World (1993) were co-created by Michael Jacobs.

Wake Up, Little Cory

1. The title is based upon the 1957 song "Wake Up Little Susie" written by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant and was a big hit for the Everly Brothers reaching #1 on the Billboard charts.

Band on the Run

1. In this episode, Adam Scott the actor that plays Griff later on in the series appears at Chubbies. He hands Cory his guitar to hold, fueling Cory's and Shawn's desire to start a band to get ladies.
2. Title based of a song by Paul McCartney and Wings released 1973. The song is on Rolling Stones list of 500 greatest songs of all time.
3. Alan's band, The Tongues, is made up of real musicians: Norm, singer, guitar (Micky Dolenz of The Monkees), Gordy, guitar (Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick), and Larry, bass (Billy Vera, of Billy Vera and the Beaters).
4. In this episode Micky Dolenz plays Norm while Rick Nielsen plays Gordy. Later on in Boy Meets World: Rave On (1995), Dolenz returns but as Gordy.
5. Cory names his fake band The Exits. Fourteen years following the airing of this episode, a indie folk rock group from Brooklyn, New York actually named their band The Exits.
6. This is the first episode in which Morgan (Lily Gibson) does not appear.
7. Alan's band, The Tongues, covers Good Lovin by the Young Rascals.

Fear Strikes Out

Sister Theresa

1. In a scene where T.K. is talking to Cory, it is shown that the words on her skirt say "Sex Kitten."

The Beard

1. Mr. Turner teaches Hamlet, which they also covered in middle school during the first season.

Turnaround

1. This was the first time Topanga called her father, daddy, every other time, she called him Jedidiah.
2. This episodes takes place in December 1994.

Cyrano

1. The premise of the episode is fundamentally the same as Cyrano de Bergerac, the play (represented in the episode title).
2. The title is based on Hector Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac, a French dramatist and duelist who is now best remembered for an overly large nose, as described in the Edmond Rostand's play based on this life.
3. Allan tells Amy the necklace has 18 pearls, one for each year they were married. Amy responds that they were only married 17 years. At the beginning of the episode, Allan intimates in conversation to Cory and Eric that the wedding anniversary is celebrating 17 years (so he did know at one point!).

I Am Not a Crook

1. The title is based upon a speech that President Richard Nixon made before the press defending himself during the Watergate affair: "...people have got to know whether or not their president is a crook. Well, I'm not a crook."

Breaking Up Is Really, Really Hard to Do

1. The flash-forward with Cory repeating "They want you to take the rolls!" is referenced in Girl Meets World episode 2.4, "Girl Meets Pluto."
2. The restaurant in Cory's vision is named Menell's after writer and executive story editor Jeff Menell.
3. The title is based on a song recorded by Neil Sedaka.
4. This is the first episode since Boy Meets World: Pilot (1993) to not be directed by David Trainer.
5. First on screen kiss for Shawn Hunter in the series.
6. Wendy says that she and Cory will get married, but they have a lot of growing up and will grow up together and eventually get married. There is foreshadowing here because Cory does just that but with Topanga.

Danger Boy

1. First TV role of Mena Suvari.
2. Mr. Feeny laments over not being chosen to chaperon the senior ski trip. During Cory, Shawn, and Topanga's senior year, he became the chaperon specifically in the episode Boy Meets World: Heartbreak Cory (1998).

On the Air

By Hook or by Crook

1. Ben Savage's (Cory Matthews)' voice begins to get deeper from this episode onwards.
2. Along with Boy Meets World: Stormy Weather (1996) and Boy Meets World: The Witches of Pennbrook (1997), this is one of only three episodes in which Ben Savage (Cory Matthews) and Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) do not share a scene.
3. Ben Savage (Cory Matthews) only appears in two scenes.
4. When Mr. Feeny gives Eric and Jason back their test results, he calls Jason "Mr. Marsden." Jason's real name is Jason Marsden.

Wrong Side of the Tracks

1. Harvey 'Harley' Keiner was played by Danny McNulty except in this episode where he is played by Kenny Johnston.
2. First appearance of Shawn's trademark leather jacket.
3. Mr. Feeny mentions Soupy Sales. The season 4 episode Boy Meets World: Easy Street (1996) would later feature Sales in a special guest star appearance as mobster Mr. Martini.

2. This episode originally aired on Danielle Fishel's 14th birthday.
3. This episode features the most special guest stars of any episode including Yasmine Bleeth, Leon White, Robert Goulet, and Chuck Riley.
4. Guest stars Kelly Packard and Yasmine Bleeth both appeared as regulars on Baywatch.
5. When Vader steps in the ring for the first time, you can see him wearing the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship belt, which he won on December 27, 1994. However, his title was vacated on March 25, 1995, over a month before this episode aired.

Career Day

1. Peter Tork marks the second appearance in season two of The Monkees. Mickey Dolenz was in episode 8, "Band on the Run."

Home

1. This is the last episode to feature Eric's best friend Jason Marsden (the character's name was the same as the actor). Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) and Jason Marsden are best friends in real life as well.
2. This is the last time that Lily Gibson played Morgan. After this episode, she was replaced with Lindsay Ridgeway until Girl Meets World: Girl Meets Goodbye (2017), where both actresses tag-team the role.
