    1. Loosely based on Mormon cultist Warren Jeffs who is serving a life sentence plus 20 years for two felony counts of child sexual assault.
    2. The original Lost Boys were the cohort who lived with Peter Pan in Neverland in the 1904 play by J.M. Barrie, 'Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up'. In the play, the Lost Boys had literally been lost or misplaced by their parents.

    2. This episode features a bit more situational humor than usual for an L & O story. In one instance of such, the court clerk at Lupo's arraignment in Dargerville tells the presiding judge that there is a motion to "squash a subpoena". The proper term is 'quash'.

Liv Tyler and Bono) were even quoted in interviews discussing their supposed friendship with the non-existent JT LeRoy.
    2. Filming took place at The Travel Inn Hotel, 515 West 42nd Street, Manhattan, NYC. As of 2017, the location on West 42nd Street has considerably changed appearance, due to new construction and remodeled buildings.

When Mike Cutter is in McCoy's office discussing Judge Malcolm Reynolds' competency due to his age there is a black and white framed photo on the wall behind McCoy, which is a shot from the show's opening credits, an aerial view of a man in the middle of a courtroom with his arm outstretched.
    2. Ned Beatty and Sam Waterston worked together previously in Hopscotch (1980). Interestingly, Waterston played a character named 'Cutter'.

    1. The plot of this episode bears a striking resemblance to a real-life murder case in Omaha, Nebraska. On March 13, 2008, Omaha Police say Anthony Garcia entered the home of William and Claire Hunter and stabbed two people to death: the couple's 11-year-old son, Thomas, and the family's housekeeper, Shirlee Sherman, 57. Roger Brumback (who was found murdered along with his wife five years later) and William Hunter had been instrumental in firing Garcia from Creighton University's pathology department in 2001. Garcia was tried for the four murders in October of 2016.
    2. The child victim is played by future star Timothée Chalamet.
    3. This story takes part of its inspiration from the life of Dr. Bruce Ivans the presumed perpetrator behind the 2001 anthrax attacks.

    1. This episode is partly based on real life. John R. Worthington Jr. believes and has told people he is the illegitimate son of John F. Kennedy. His mother alluded to an affair with JFK which led Worthington to try and find evidence, DNA, from JFK so he can corroborate this. Vanity Fair was writing a story regarding this but stopped for unknown reasons.
    2. In this episode Rue McClanahan plays a woman, who claims to have slept with Former President John F. Kennedy; 19 years earlier, in the Golden Girls episode Clinton Avenue Memoirs (1990), Rue McClanahan plays Blanche who hints to having slept with JFK.
    3. Bernard mentions several artefacts bought at "Southingtons". This is a fictional reference to major international auctioneers, Sothebys.
    4. Andrew Dolan (Joe Foster) previously played the role of Kyle Guardino in episode 16.17, America, Inc. (2006).

No such quote appears in Matthew 24 (though it is consistent with the theme of that chapter). This appears to be an intentional misquote. However, in 1992 President Clinton's first two choices to be his Attorney General had to withdraw their names from consideration when it was revealed they had done the same thing. It was because of that the term "Nannygate" was coined and would be a big problem for McCoy.
